You need to re-align your printer, please follow these steps:
XP/2000: Go to start > control panel > printers > right click your printer and choose properties, go to maintenance and choose "Print head alignment" follow the steps on the printed page and you will be fine.
Vista/7: Got to start > Devices and printers > right click your printer and choose properties, go to maintenance and choose "Print head alignment" follow the steps on the printed page and you will be fine.
In case the steps are unclear, you will have to put your printed page under the scanner and press the scan button.

The paper size is typically a software setting, and not hardware. For example, try changing the paper size in Word..... Then the printer is a slave to this controlling software.

the best way is to contact hp directly about a technical repair sheet but to be honest it might be time for a new printer

Any photo paper will work up to A4 size. It depends on the size of photo's you'd like to print. If you want 4 by 6 prints, any 4 by 6 paper will work, just remember to put it on the "Photo Paper" setting. Hope this helps, please rate! =]

Clean the paper rollers with a damp cloth.

1. Check all your connections first.
2. Open up printers and faxes and see if the printer is labeled 'ready'.
3. Look to see if you have pending documents by double clicking on the printer icon.
4. If the printer has simply started to hang then try rebooting the computer and resending the print jobs.
