Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles. If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive. It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.
I'm guessing you have checked the fuse in the plug top,so have youchecked the cable for a break in it, some times cable damage canbe caused by the silliest of things such as standing on it ,catching it when hoovering or changing things around or maybe it got kinked If you are not sure, try this, change the fuse with one from a working appliance ie. a table lamp that way you know that fuse IS working, now starting at where the cable enters the printer gently move the cable up /down and side to side while watching and listening for lights or sound , work your way along the length of the cable to the plug ..Something else ,molded plugs can and do go wrongto fix this, cut the plug of and fit a standard 13 amp plug, however check the fuse rating in the old plug ,if it is a 3 or 5 amp fuse it is recomended you replace it with the same size fuse as this protects your printer from damage ,it does not give it more power lol. goodluck ...T.C.
please check the cartridge and see if it is the recommended one the printer.. if it is .... remove it ,clean the print mouth, re fix it and try printing... sometimes refilled cartridges also give the same problem. please check that too.

See Changing the print cartridge on page 51 for instructions.- There is no media jam. See Clearing jams on page 68 for instructions. Here is the manual. Thanks!
Try to press the reset button on your printer if did not works just try to download the reseter of your printer in HP Laserjet 1020 at the HP website. Because your printer have a lifespan printing; example if your printer have a 100,000 copies to be print so you have aloud to print not more than 100,000 copies. That's why need to reset your printer using the reseter program by HP.
Make sure the printer you want to use is being selected by the program you are using. Also, go into the device manager and set it as the default printer, if that's the one you will always be using.
I found it somewhat difficult to completely Unshare files and folders on my HomeGroup Network and still allow Printer sharing in Windows 7 (Home Premium).Initial UnSharing still allowed files like those below to be viewed on other home network computers:C:/Users/{user x} (folder)AppData (folder)Default (folderPublic (folder)desktop.ini (file)Other computers on the home network could step through many levels of hiarchy in the AppData folder and appeared to have "Delete" access!!To completely decouple the computers, I had to go through the following several different Sharing/Unsharing assignment locations, till I could completely break the linkage.I would appreciate any clarifications or simplifications. File UnShare Confusion on HomeGroup NetworkThere are several different Network Sharing/Protection assignment locations in Windows 7.To prevent all sharing between computers on the Homegroup Network, but allow Printer Sharing:1) Start->Control Panel ->Network and Sharing Center->Choose Homegroup and sharing options.Uncheck sharing boxes that you don't want to share. Save changes. 2) Start->Control Panel ->Network and Sharing Center->Choose Homegroup and sharing options->Change advanced sharing settings.Click "Turn off Public folder sharing (people logged on to this computer can still access these folders)". 3) Start->Control Panel ->Network and Sharing Center->Choose Homegroup and sharing options->Change advanced sharing settings.Choose Media streaming options. Click "Block All" button. Turn off. Click OK. Anomaly Note: You have to close Control Panel and repeat all step 3 again for the change to take effect. 4) Open Windows Explorer.a) Select "C:/", select "Users" folder with single click, then click "Share with" in toolbar. b) Select Advanced sharing.Under Sharing tab, select Advanced Sharing. Uncheck box labeled "Share this folder". Apply and close.5) Open Windows Explorer.Select "C:/Users/", select all folders and files under "Users", then click "Share with" in toolbar, then click "Nobody". 6) Verify success by going to other home network computer(s) and trying to access your files and folders. You should only be able to see there is a computer and not be able to see any folders of files.smooth printer service
