49 service error ff04
your printer driver is corrupt or the files your printing are corrupt- most 49.xxyy errors are down to software external to the printer. not sure?.
disconnect the printer from all network points and cycle the power - when it is ready perform a path print test ( found under the diagnostics menu on the printer itself ) and you will likely find no errors ( if by some horror of horrors you do get 49.xxyy error then you will need to replace the firmware chip - Very Very unlikely) -
what to do--
remove the printer and uninstall from the workstation - reboot the PC - re install the latest driver for your operating system downloaded from HP website
re connect the printer - print away !!

Clean the inside and check for any gunk built up try unplugging it for atleast 2 hours if neither helps then probably will need to be changed also try doing a calibration on it before buying item
Failure code 57.40
First, turn the printer off. I'd go so far as to unplug it, wait a minute, and turn it on.
If that doesn't work, take it in for service. It could be as simple as a fan - or it could be the logic board controlling it. Neither tend to be user-serviceable, at least not easily.
Keep getting 10.00.03 supplies error,
10.00.03 - The printer cannot read or write to the yellow print cartridge memory tag.
Solution:
Turn the printer off and then back on again.
If error returns, remove all print cartridges and turn off the printer.
Cold reset the printer:
Turn on the printer.
Watch the control panel.
When the memory starts counting, press and hold the green (Select) button.
Continue holding the green check button until the Ready, Data, and Attention lights flash once, and then stay on steady.
Release the check button when the Ready, Data, and Attention light are on steady.
The control panel will display SELECT LANGUAGE.
Press (Down Arrow) button once. The control panel will display COLD RESET.
Press (Select). The printer will perform a cold reset and then continue its power-on sequence.
Wait for the printer prompt to install each print cartridge.
This should return the machine to operating condition. If you still get the error, replace the yellow print cartridge.

Replace your paper pickups and set your paper tray setting correct, both in the tray and the settings menu. That should help you out. The part# for paper-pickups is RF5-3739.

Yellow tint
yellow tint on a laserjet printer is typically a sign of ink cartridges running low. i would attempt to change those first, if that doesn't work, try cleaning your jets by wiping with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol (first remove ink cartridges so they dont get damaged. also, allow to dry completely before reinstalling ink)
Vertical color lines lines appear on printed page in red blue and grey
First thing I would do would be to make sure you are using HP genuine toner. Generic or 3rd party toner cartridges tend to fail about 50 percent of the time. If that doesnt solve it, the next step would be to make sure your firmware is up to date. Print out a config sheet and it will tell you the firmware version, which goes by dates. The older the date, the more likely that it has new updates since then. To update the firmware, go to the HP website and go to the support tab to find the version for your specific printer. Hope this helps.
