How do I "clear cartrige jam?"

Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts

After repacing cartrideges --it constantly

I have the same printer and it does the same thing... make sure you have paper in and click the ok button on the face of the printer. It will print out a pattern, put the pattern upside down facing back in the scanner and hit ok again. This will align your cartridges and allow you to print once again.

Says clean carrage jam nothing jamming it

This seems to be fault in the transport of the paper in the rollers. So if you have used any adhesive sticker printing, it is possible that some glue has got clogged into the rollers. If not there can be some jammed paper in the rollers or the mechanism.
So start this work only if you are mechanically able with the right tools.
Remove the covers to get access to the mechanism . Remove the motor drive assembly , the fitting of the motor to the mechanism. Once this is removed the rollers can be turned manually so that you will be able to feed a paper to see the progress of the movement while studying if there is any obstruction or damage to the paper.
There is a in-detect sensor, usually an opto-coupler , make sure this is not clogged or dirty as this IR detection feeds the signal to the processor for starting the motor drive feed.
Reassemble but make sure the rollers are aligned to be in equal gap to feed the paper without a side pull. Now you must print and see if the fault has changed. If not repeat the above work to confirm the area of obstruction.

Remove printer , uninstall software ,then reinstall and connect printer.

2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug in the power only
4. Repeat steps 2-3 two more times.
5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one to your computer.

Please try installing the below patch and check for the result:

Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:

1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on.

2. Press and hold Cancel and the Right Arrow while plugging in the power cord.

How do you replace the ink cartride in a hp 2175

1. Prepare the replacement cartridge by pressing down and back on the top of the protective plastic, then sliding the cartridge out.
2. Set both the cartridge and empty cartridge protector aside.
3. Turn on your printer and lift the access door until it locks into place. The print carriage will move to the center.
4. Once the print carriage has stopped moving, raise the latch to release the empty cartridge. 5. Remove the empty cartridge by pulling towards you. If you are replacing the tri-color cartridge and need to remove the black ink cartridge temporarily, use the empty cartridge protector to hold it. 6. Hold the replacement cartridge by the sides and remove the black plastic tape. 7. Insert the replacement cartridge into the appropriate slot (left for tri-color, right for black) until it snaps into place. 8. Pull the cartridge latch towards you and press down until it snaps into place. 9. Close the access door. -------

The carriage on my HP

Hi,

To begin with, this is a common problem with this model or i could say all models in this series. There are many reasons for the same i.e it could be a software problem or even hardware ( more probable reason ).Please remove the All-in-One Printer from the Power Surge Protector and plug it directly into a wall Power outlet, as the surge protector may not provide enough power to printer.

Let us power cycle your All-in-one to remove any static electricity in your All-in-one.

3. Plug in the power only
4. Repeat steps 2-3 two more times.
5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one to your computer.

You could download the below patch :-

- Make sure that all the drivers are updated.

If problem still persists, then more likely it is a hardware fault.I have seen many times that a small piece of paper or stuff is blocking the way of carriage. If that is not the case, it seems that the carriage assembly needs to be replace which is not an ideal or cost effective option.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.
