What is the brand of the yellow cartridge?
By the by, are you able to take the yellow out or is it stuck in the carousel?
I need to clean the cartridge heads on my HP C7280
I suspect you didn't install the full feature software for the printer. Uninstall the generic driver if present then disconnect the data cable (if USB). Download and install the full featured software from
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3204785& . Select the correct version of Win7 (32-bit or 64-bit) then Next and click on Drivers.
Next open the HP Solution Center (Start > All programs > HP > HP Solution Center). Click Settings and Point to Print Settings and click Printer Toolbox. Alternatively, do this from the Devices and Printers Control Panel. Right click on the printer icon and choose Properties. Next click Printing Preferences, then click on the Features tab. Finally click on the Printer Services button.
Once the Toolbox is open, select the Device Services tab and click on Clean the Printer Cartridges. Choose one of the 3 options present.
You can also run this from the printer itself. Press Setup and navigate with the down arrow to Tools and press OK. Then highlight Clean Printhead and press OK.

I am getting a 50.2 error on my HP lazerjet 2840 .
Try reseating the fuser. If that doesn't work then you will need to replace the fuser. If that doesn't work then the fuser power supply needs to be replaced.
The fax is another problem. First get the printer working.
How do I know which
The printer will alert you when the cartridge is running low on the display of the unit itself and also on your computer screen in the lower right hand side corner with an error display. Each place will identify the cartridge that is running low until the level is too small to print. Then printing stops until the cartridge is changed.
Hp 2840 will not scan in windows 7
Don't even try the hp software. 99% sure it won't work. Even in the compatibility mode. Conect the unit USB (no longer than 6ft, and don't use usb hubs) Windows will recognize the new device, it will install an embedded driver. Then Go to control panel under printers and devices and you will see the printer. If you do a right click it will show the option scan. Just follow the wizard. Or open Paint and in the top left corner, there is a blue buttom with an arrow, go there and in the drop down you will find an option from scanner or camera. Both walk arounds will allow you to scan in jpeg, tiff, png, and other but not pdf

a 50.x fuser appear its because the fuser its worn, its probably
overheating. I can suggest to take it out (in the back you will see 2
blue locks) for about half hour (turn the unit off before you are doing
that) and put it back in. If the error persist you need a new fuser.

Repalced black cartridge and the
Its actually simple but difficult to explain. I'll try my best.
1. open the top cover
2.you will see the two plastic hinges that hold the top cover.
3. look at the right one, you will see that it gets inside the unit,
just below that plastic hinge (inside) there is a white or gray plastic
part with an square hole (in rare cases might be black)
4. Introduce a thing object (an open paper clip its perfect) DO NOT FORCE THAT PART TOO MUCH AS IT CAN BREAK
This steps will unlock the carousel and will move free. You can manually
rotate it and take everything out. Finally take the clip out and the
carousel will lock again. Try to insert the toner as you normaly do.

HP2840 not printing first 4 or 5 letters down left
This seems to be a problem with the carousel (the part that holds the toners). With the years the bushings worn or it was forced when replaceing a toner. When this happen ussually prints is just one side. This part need alligment and maybe a new bushings. This issue can be fixed but its too complicated if you are not a tech. Try to contact a service center or HP, I think they can send a tech onsite for a fee.
After i realigned the carousel
First try to print from different programs and formats, like from notepad, microsoft word, jpeg file, pdf file, etc.. If everything comes blank and there's no problem with the Cartridges and drum, then you need to check the Print Settings and Printer drivers. Start over all the installation process including drivers, cartridges, drum, etc... First remove the cartridges, drum, paper, and turn off the machine, disconnect the usb and the power cord. Now uninstall the drivers, Restart your computer and again reinstall the drivers and connect the printer after everything is installed and when the installation program asks to connect it to the computer.
You can also clean the printer inner compartments (precautionary measure only).
After everything's done, try printing again. I hope the problem with blank print outs might have gone by now.

The "fuser" unit is supposed to heat-up, to "melt" the dry "toner" ink into the paper, but your printer has detected that the fuser is not working.
Replace the _broken_ fuser unit, or replace the entire printer.
My printer still prints, but make noise when the

This is due to a hardware failure, the scanner assembly and the formatter board will need to be replaced.
Try doing a hard or reset or nvram:
1. Turn the printer off
2. Hold down the enter and the * button
3. Reboot the printer while holding the buttons and hold until permanent storage is displayed. Let go of the buttons and wait for the ready message on the display.
