hello, sorry, but you will need to retrun to hp's web site and down load the un-install tool, it will remove its programs from the regestry, you might run this tool at least 2 times before you try to re-install the hp software, i have found that the basic program from hp does not always work, so down load the entire program, its larger in size. it has more garbage in it, but its seems better.
Getting false papar jam message on hp 7210
Often there is still some small piece of paper jambed somewhere. Keep digging.
Be sure to totally power off the printer and remove power source for longer than 2 minutes and then repower.
My printer is brand new,
Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contactscheckthis link for idea to clean the head.

How do I find out
1. Install the software for your printer which came along with your printer in a cd rom.
2. Goto -> start -> control panel -> printers.
3. Right click on your printer and select properties. There you will get hp service toolsbox tab. click on the service tab to see to the ink levels.
4. ink levels are approximate and nothing will be displayed if you are using refilled cartridges.
I hope this is helpful to you

remove all the ink cartridges, and then unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
Now, hold down # and number 6 button together, and while holding them down, plug the power back in.
release the hold after about 30 seconds, or the display saying nvram reset .. something like that .. If the printer turns off , then you will have to turn it ON again .. and then insert the ink cartridges ,
this will reset the machine.. and should resolve the issue. Also check if yu have any old cartridge and first insert that and see. if no error on inserting the old cartridge and that if it come by inserting the new on, then it could be the cartridge problem. Will have to try with new ink cartridge.
I have Carriage Jam displaying?
First try to clean the carriage "Rod" which controls the carriage movement. Use a soft cloth or tissue paper to clean it. You can also the belt that holds the carriage. Try moving it manually, you can push or pull it. After you are done, follow the steps below:
Remove all the cartridges, clean the contact points on the cartridges and on the printer using soft brush/cotton dipped in alcohol/acetone /spirit.
While the cartridges are kept for drying, do the following:
Turn it off > Disconnect usb cable, power cord, inthernet cable; >remove the papers from the tray >open the back panel door (the rear door where you clear paper jam). Also turn off the mains switch which the dc adapter is plugged in. After keeping it Off for about 5 minutes, turn on the printer again with only the power cord connected, keep tapping the cancel button while it boots up and again leave it On for few minutes > turn it off > connect all the cables > again turn it On and keep pressing the power button while it boots up. Now you can install the cartridges. Check the status message. It should work fine now.
If the problem persists, there must be internal hardware/firmware problem and will be needed to call for service.
Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.
