Usb ports not responding
Not responding to what device? Your computer is getting a litte long in the tooth, if the USB device is a Thumb Drive over 2GB's it may need a Patch/ hotfix. Open HP updates and Windows updates. Or is there another issue.

Close as many programs as possible on your pc. Look in the lower right side area near the clock and right click with your mouse on top of any open ICON's and choose exit or close.
Then open disk clean up. You can find it by typing it in the search box on your pc which is located above the start button on the bottom left side of your screen. OR you can click on start, slide up to programs, then go to accessories and slide over to system tools and you will find disk clean up there. Click on disk clean up and open it.
It will scan and tell you how much room you can save by deleting files. It will show you file folders with boxes that you can check. Make sure all boxes are checked. Scroll up and down if necessary to make sure all are marked. Then click "ok". Let it clean out your pc. It may take some time to complete.
When it is finished cleaning, run disk defragmentor. You can find it the same way as you did disk clean up above. It is located in the same place. Open Disk defrag. Click on "C" drive and then click defrag now. let it run and finish.
Then go to your control panel and open install programs. Look at the programs installed on your pc, and uninstall and/or delete any that you do not use.
Then go to control panel, internet options and click on browsing history settings - make sure the memory allocated in this area is set to 50.

This usually means that auto-play is not enabled and your computer is reading the disc fine.
Once the disc is in your computer go to the MY COMPUTER icon on the start menu.
Next find the CD/DVD icon and double click on that. This should open your cd for you!

Take a USB Flash Drive or CD and download only the Ethernet Controller Driver for the Compaq. Install the driver to the Compq, connect it to the net and download the package directly to the Compaq.

System was up an running then, Then shut down
It sounds to me like it overheated and something burnt out, but I could be wrong. The main pieces in a desktop computer are: power supply, motherboard, cpu, ram, and video card (which is on the motherboard for lower end systems.)
Each one will need to be properly tested to find out which part(s) is(/are) failing, and the failing part(s) will need to be replaced.

When started system says invald disk replace the
First of all check whether there is any CD in the Drive. If your system is configured with CD as first boot device, instead of Hard disk and there is non bootable disk in the CD tray this could happen. If you find a CD in the tray and removing it gets your computer to boot normaly, then change the first boot device to Hard disk in the BIOS. If this is not the case, check the power and IDE cable into the hard disk for any loose connection. Check the IDE cable at the hard disk end as well as the mother board side. If this also alright, you may want to check the hard disk for probable fault or corrupted operating system.
