Installing new motherboard, processor, mem, and video adapter. Powers on but no post.

If the beep is a very high pitched tone, turn off the computer. Your CPU is overheating. The thermal paste may not be spread correctly on the CPU or the heat sink isn't properly installed. Otherwise, it's probably a memory error. This machine takes 2 GB of memory as 2 single GB memory sticks. Try booting the machine with only one DIMM installed. Try each stick individually before getting replacement memory.I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Moved my desktp computer PJ506AA and it now will not turn on. Light in back is flashing.

Try re inserting the cables connected to your CPU, if it doesn't work, you need to open the CPU case and re-insert the IO cards inside, it might also needs cleaning inside but a technician might be needed to do the cleaning correctly, due to sensitive parts inside. Try to watch videos on how to insert IO cards on other sites, for your guide. Good day and good luck.

Desk top computer w/ SN:

The computer fan may be clogged with dust or may have failed. The computer monitors the fan and if it is not working it will not let the computer start. It is a way for the pc to keep itself from overheating. Unplug the computer and open the cover and carefully try to vacuum or blow out all the dust. Then with the cover off try starting the computer and watch the fans and see which one is not turning, it may start if there was a lot off dust. If not the fan may need to be replaced.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Recovery discs aren't working on my hp cq60-615dx, what should I try next?

Appears that recovery disk #2 is bogus. U can try to get a new set from HP (fat chance!) or you can do a reload from a normal, retail OS disk.

You may have a virus, malware, adware, a browser hijacker, or pups (potentially unwanted programs). A. If your computer will boot and you can operate it ok... Download and install Malwarebytes and Superantispyware (Note: If you can\'t do the download on your machine, do it on a friend\'s, put them on a thumb drive, and install them from it). Then scan your computer with each program, and quarantine anything found. B. If your computer won\'t boot, or can\'t operate properly after boot... Tap F8 when you are booting, select "Safe Mode With Networking". Download and install Malwarebytes and Superantispyware (Note: If you can\'t do the download on your machine, do it on a friend\'s, put them on a thumb drive, and install them from it). Then scan your computer with each program, and quarantine anything found. C. If this process finds malware, to keep stuff like that from coming back, I recommend you get the paid version of Malwarebytes.Good luckG

Hp 6830s

If the fan making a smooth spin, but the noise is too loud, then it means the fan is trying to dissipate the heat. Probably the air inlet and or the air outlet (also the fan itself) is dirty (or clogged) and you need to clean it up using a canned air. You may need to open the case/body if the dust become a dust ball (and you need a tweezer and qtip to pickup the dust ball and clean up the fan blades).
