Can any one help me with the Location of Thermal Sensor on my Hp Compaq 500B Mt

There seems to be a lot going on here. First I should say, you should never touch a motherboard or any motherboard components when the power is applied to it, as in checking the temperature of the components.

Even a slight touch could cause a static discharge that could result in a motherboard failure.

Usually, when a system will not even show the BIOS screen, I would suspect a failed motherboard.

However, there are some components that can cause this as well.

Here is a link for your system specifications. The beep codes are listed here in the Service and maintenance information.

If you removed or disconnected all the components and the system tried to boot, and gave you some beep codes, it may not be a failed motherboard, but a defective component connected to the motherboard.

First, a VERY IMPORTANT CAUTION. Never boot a compter without the CPU heatsink and thermal paste installed.

This could cause the CPU to burn itself out in just a few seconds.

I would make sure the CPU, with heatsink and thermal paste, is installed. Have no other devices connected, including memory. Boot the system and see if you get any beep codes. If so, add one memory module and reboot the system, and see if you get any beep codes. If so, replace the installed memory module with the other memory module and reboot. See if you get any beep codes. Install the video card if you have one other than an onboard video device.

Since you removed the CMOS battery, the BIOS will be at the default setting. If you can get the system to enter the BIOS, set the time, date and default setting, save your settings and reboot. See how far you can go. If you are successful to this point, you will get an error the no hard drive is found. Now is the time to connect the hard drive and reboot, and see if you are successful.

Hope this helps.

Won't turn on

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact. Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.

The DC jack in the laptop is a common source of trouble, to no power and intermittent operation. The laptop will need to be dismantled down to the motherboard level to have this addressed.

How to enable WLAN in compaq CQ61

One of the people here posted a response, more than a year prior to your question, which comes very close to being the right response for your situation - you must change the settings on your network adapter, which you can find in Control Panel. However, not knowing which version of Windows OS you have been working with, and other information about the PC you have been trying to use for WLAN, it is extremely difficult to offer you a response which will unequivocally fix your problem. If you post more information, specific to your configuration, then one of us here will be able to guide you to the right solution. Please, put more information up for us to look at, and then we might be able to resolve your WLAN issue.Cheers!-a.

Compaq desktop persario xp non-system disk or disk error

This means that the system identifies the hard drive on your computer as one that is not bootable, in other words, it does not contain any operating system, or it does contain one, but the disk format is not recognized by the system. For example, Windows operating systems only identify two types of disks and that is DYNAMIC or BASIC. If a Hard disk has an operating system and has been converted to DYNAMIC, you can not start any operating system on it. Only BASIC disks can be used to start an operating system. Here is a solution for you... Get a copy of the operating system you are using and boot the computer from it. Press F2 when booting and go to the system BIOS where you are going to configure the boot order or the boot sequence and make the CD drive the first booting device, so that the system can boot from the CD. If you receive a message stating that the SETUP can not find any hard disk installed.... then there must be a problem with the Hard disk format. Remove the hard disk and connect it to a desktop computer as a slave. This will enable you to see the Hard disk as a removable device on the 'My computer" menu.Go to start, right-click on "My computer" and select "Manage". This will take you into computer management console, then select "Disk management" and this will bring all the disks and drives connected to that computer and all their respective information. Click of the drive that you just connected and check on the bottom middle column, the type of the disk whether it is DYNAMIC or BASIC. If it is Dynamic, then you have to covert it back to basic. Make sure you make a data backup before you do this. This is because the system will delete anything on the hard drive. When you are done, take the hard drive back to your computer and boot from the CD again and install a new operating system. You should be good after this...

WHAT GRAPHICS CARDS ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE AVERATEC ALL-IN-ONEDESTOP PC'S?

1) It has an Intel G35 Express motherboard chipset,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_intel_chipsets#Core_2_chipsetsUnder the - Chipset heading on the left, scroll down to - G35Note that under the - Graphics heading, all the way to the right, that the Intel G35 Express chipset;1) Will support a PCI-Express x16 expansion slot. This means a PCI-Express graphics card can be used, IF, there is a PCI-Express x16 slot on the motherboard.[ PCI-Express is a technology. The current PCI-Express technology is PCI-Express 2.0There is a PCI-Express x1 expansion slot, and a PCI-Express x16 expansion slot. (Not relating to Your computer at the moment)The PCI-Express x1 slot is Not used for a graphics card. The PCI-Express x16 slot IS,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express ]2) Has Intel GMA X3500 Integrated Graphics.Meaning if there is NO graphics card installed right now, the computer is using Integrated Graphics, (Intel GMA X3500,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA#GMA_X3500Now,...you are essentially working on a laptop with a touchscreen.Once you remove the 10 screws from the Back Cover, and remove the cover, you are looking at the exposed circuitry of the computer. You NEED to follow Anti-Static Precautions. This cannot be performed as on a regular desktop computer. Touching the metal frame (Of the unplugged from power computer) will do you No good. You need to use an ESD wrist strap, and connect it's alligator clip to a good ground source. [ Electro Static Discharge]Your body carries Static electricity. Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit) the delicate hardware components inside a computer. With the Back Cover off the manufacturer knows all of the hardware components are exposed. This means the person working on the computer should be aware of Static issues, and use proper tools. The average consumer is not aware of this. This is why only a ram memory upgrade is recommended by the manufacturer. (Before they went out of business)This is why there are no service manuals released, also.Only for the qualified authorized service techs.So,...let's look together. See if there is a PCI-Express x16 slot, for one.It can be any color. Will be longer than any other expansion slot on the motherboard. The PCI slots (Usually white) are not as long.(164 contact pins. 82 on each side)These examples of a PCI slot, and versions of a PCI-Express slot, are all the same color. (Yellow) Not usual for a desktop computer.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PCIExpress.jpgThe top example is an example of a PCI-Express x4 slot.Hardly EVER used, I didn't mention it.Has 64 contact pins. 32 on each side. The next slot down is an example of a PCI-Express x16 slot.164 contact pins. 82 on each side.Next down is an example of a PCI-Express x1 slot.36 contact pins. 18 on each side.Next down is another example of a PCI-Express x16 slot.Last example is an example of a PCI slot. TOTALLY different technology than PCI-Express.124 contact pins. 62 on each side. (Unless PCI that is 64-bit)IF, there is a PCI-Express x16 slot on the motherboard, you can use PCI-Express 1.1 or 2.0 graphics cards. You need to be concerned with;A) How much height is available for the graphics card, and how much length? Check the measurements inside the computer. Match to dimensions of the graphics cards you are looking at.B) How much POWER does the graphics card require? It's in the Minimum Requirements stated for the graphics card. How much power is available to the all-in-one computer? This could be an instant stopping block. AMD ATI Radeon graphics cards generally use less power, than a comparable Nvidia graphics card.C) Worried about your computer per se uses DDR Sdram ram memory, and the graphics card uses GDDR3 ram memory? (Just an example. Not directly related to Your computer)Don't be. Doesn't matter what graphics memory a graphics card uses. The graphics card does Not rely on the system resources (Processor and Ram Memory) of the computer. A graphics card has it's own Processor, (GPU. Graphics Processing Unit), and graphics ram memory. For additional questions, or to have me explain in further detail, or to clarify, post in a Comment.Regards, joecoolvette
