Discovery kids ice cream maker instructions

Usually with these cheaper ice cream makers you put the bowl in the freezer for 12 hours and then put it on the machine and turn it on . Very important point turn it on so it is churning. Why so that what ever you pour in doesn't freeze solid and stop the agitator from churning. Most ice cream is Cream and sweeten condensed milk and flavouring. I do not have this exact ice cream maker but the one I do have has made three different ice creams in it so far. Add 1000 mL of cream to 250 mL sweeten condensed cream. Watch it for about 20 minutes till ice cream is solidifying then transfer to an plastic icecream container and put in freezer for at least 4 hours.

How to?

I unfortunately found this site to be unhelpful. :( I am doing a trial and error thing until I am able to figure this out on my own. I am using it similar to a coffee maker. I put two tea bags in, filled the water up to the water line, poured water into the top, fill the jug with ice to the fill line, plugged it in and pressed start.

How do I get the beater out of my soft serve ice cream machine model #152 12

On the front of the machine on both sides the dispensing handle there are large thumb screws (I believe 2 on your unit). Empty the product from the machine then turn the thumb screws to the left to take them off. The screws hold the face plate on the front of your machine. You will then be able to remove the face plate from the front of the unit. The beater will be in the freezing cylinder behind the face plate. You will be able to just pull it out.

Where can I get a gear wheel that takes the paddle shaft. Teeth have broken off mine.

Alan, there unfortunately are not any canister ice cream makers that the manufacture sells the replacement gear wheel. Unfortunately when you have gear issues or motor issues there are not any replacement parts and they have just become a throw away item.

Where do we acquire a new cover?

Unfortunately Rival doesn't make replacement parts available for their appliances. You can contact them directly at Sites rival products Site However I haven't ever been able to get replacement parts through them. I have found the 90% of canister style Ice Cream makers have the same size lids. In the past I have purchase West Bends Ice Cream maker lid and it fits perfectly on both my Rival ice cream maker as well as my Back to Basics model. Here is a link to the parts on West Bends site: IC10885 Ice Cream Maker The lids is part number U66-2, and is only a couple of dollars from West Bend. -Colleen @ Mending Shed Sites rival products Site IC10885 Ice Cream Maker

I have lost the clear Canister lid and cap. Can I get a replacement

I have found that 90% of canister Ice cream makers are modeled the same, I have had a Back to Basics, Rival and West Bend Ice cream makers and the lids are interchangeable. A lot of companies don't make replacement parts so I usually go with the West Bend lid. The first thing you will want to do if find the brand on your Ice Cream maker (usually found on the motor/top) and see if the manufacture does make replacement parts for your machine. If they do not have parts available I would try the West Bend Ice Cream maker lid U66-2, like i said it is a pretty standard size and will fit most Ice Cream Canisters. Here is a link to West Bends part page: IC10885 Ice Cream Maker The lid is very inexpensive so even if it doesn't fit your not throwing away a lot of money. -Colleen @ Mending Shed

How many cups is 100g?

Here is how volume/weight conversions work. A gram is a unit of weight. A cup is a unit of volume. Volume is the amount of space an ingredient occupies and weight is the mass or "heaviness" of an ingredient. 500 grams of mini marshmallows = 10 cups 500 grams of flour = 4 cups 500 grams of sugar = 2.5 cups As you can see, the weight for these ingredients are the same, yet the volumes are different. This is because each ingredient has a different density. Here is another example: A cup of feathers and a cup of lead pellets both occupy 8 fluid ounces of volume. The feathers will weigh a lot less than 8 ounces on a scale and the lead will weigh a lot more than 8 ounces on a scale. Asking how many cups equal 100 grams would be the same as asking how many hours are in a 100 inches. Volume and weight are two completely different measurement systems... just as time and length are two different measurement systems. The only difference is that volume and weight can be linked through density.... mathematically speaking. Density = Mass divided by Volume. Density can change for the same ingredient. For example, a cup of sifted flour will weigh a lot less than a cup of unsifted flour. A pint of water will vary in weight depending on the temperature of the water. There are websites that do volume/weight conversions based on density. Two great websites are: http://www.onlineconversion.com and http://www.gourmetsleuth.com or, you can look in a cookbook that has a volume/weight equivalency chart.
