call in an electrician to check the wiring for the premises the only way that that can happen is if the neutral wire is receiving power or the ground wire is getting power back through the neutral that is unless you have pulled the plug from the wall socket in which case it will not keep burning

the bottom cover may reveal it. It may need the shell removed. Look for tine screw to remove to release it.

Turn gas valve to off for 5 minutes, then turn to pilot and push in and hold then light pilot light, release slowly and turn to on.

Not enough oil in it to cover the sensor. If it doesn't shut off could be the circuit board is out of it.

Does it have a draft inducer(fan) in the back

you have a gas leak on the pilot supply robbing gas from the pilot .
