First, your battery is discharged and most likely bad. The problem with the power cord and adapter could be a loose power connector on the computer or short in the wire itself. If you have access to another adapter try the other adapter with the battery removed and see if you have that same problem. If you do then you know the problem is on the motherboard connector. If not you know it is the Power adapter.

It is very possible that you are losing the screen. The backlight is built into the screen and the inverter is usually very reliable. I would however most likely change both the inverter and the screen.

Worst case: The hard drive was damaged.

Best case: The hard drive was knocked loose from the connector. Open the "door" to the hard drive and re-seat the hard drive.

keep pressing ALT+F4 until the shutdown dialog appears.
Windows has the shortcut ALT+(other key) to most of it's functions.

Sony Vaio PCG-K35 laptop doesn't have an integrated video camera., so if your coomputer has an integrated web camrera must be talking about a different Vaio laptop model.
The laptop with an integrated video camera will have basic software to use it .
For instance, my VAIO VGN-FW21M came with ArcSoft Web Companion 2, which I can acces from the Programs menu (START/PROGRAMS).
Of course, the camera will also work with other programs that use a video camera (Skype, etc).

If your computer runs correctly on AC power (without the battery), the power adapter is fine. So the problem may rest with your battery. If you have been using the same battery for 3-4 years, I suspect that it may not be holding the charge (end of life)
Try charging you battery and run the computer on battery alone and see how long it lasts.

When it is running I need to know if the air coming out of the vent slats is hot or just warm. It sounds like the laptop is overheating and shutting down so it doesn;t burn itself up. Get a can of compressed air they sell at office supplt companies and use short bursts of air in the vent slots and fan housing. If there is an access panel on the bottom that allows access to the processor and heatsink, blow that area out too. Then check the Sony support site and see if they have a BIOS update for that model computer. Some manufacturers are writing new BIOS instructions for their laptops for the fans to run longer and faster to take care of heat issues.

Try booting it from your CD drive.

well its tough to say, could be a harsh virus, or damaged registry. Try starting it up and as soon as it starts press f8 repeatedly until the safe mode menu is prompted, then from there pick a the option that best suits you, either safe mode or safe mode with networking. In just regular safe mode you can go in and remove harmful data from your hard drive. Maybe running under last know configuration might help. Let me know what happens.

try this remove the battery the ac cord and the memory from the pc,(two screws on the backside where the letter m ison the botom).Hold the power button down for twenty seconds.This usually clears the settings.Put the nenory back in the battery back and try turning it on.

how do you determine power is reaching motherboard ?if it is not turning on chk if u could hear any fan spinning if yes then ac adapter is working remove the battery and unplug the ac adapter and hold the power button for 10 sec and reconnect the ac adapter and turn on the laptop if not then remove the memory and turn on the laptop if u hear beeps then the mother board is fine

When you plug it in, does it show that the battery is charging? If not, then the DC Power socket has failed on the laptop, so a new power supply would not fix the problem.

The manufacturer will tell you to replace the motherboard, however the DC power sockets are readily available, and relatively easy to fit.

try and clean with a dvd lens cleaner and see maybe it works...if it still persist then try buying a new one

on your key pad there are also volume controls they will be the fn keys hold down the fn key and press the fn key with the little speaker on it

Device Manager and fine sound video and game controles open that and see if you have them installed look for a yello flag if non the are u=in and all you need is practice turning on the sound and video .
