1) Side Cover off; Observe whether the fan that pushed air over the Processor is operating.

Hi there. I've worked for Sony VAIO and can assure you that the only solution is to get a Sony Branded Spare parts. The parts of Sony VAIO are very specific. As of now I see that the only solution for you is to either contact Sony Service Center or go for an external DVD Drive.

take out the RAM card and reset it.

Can you still get into the BIOS? Del or F2 in general.
If so, check the boot devices and the boot device order. You can also try loading the default settings in the BIOS.

And, have you waited long enough? It can take a while for the boot process to time out on a device problem and show the error.
