I don't think this machine is still supported. My mother also wants me to "resurrect" hers, but the original Internet service provider -- Unbound Communications (a subsidiary of Vtech) -- does not appear to still be in business. If this company was hard coded into the set up program it may not be usable today.

I also am looking into this for my mother who purchased one new in 2001 and is looking to start using it again.

The companion was used as a standalone (no computer needed) email machine. Email accounts were provided through Yahoo! and Internet connection was provided through a company called Unbound Communication (a subsidiary of Vtech) Unbound does not appear to exist today. Don't know if the machine can be used with another provider, the Unbound company may have been hard programmed in the machine.

At the request of my mother, who had bought one of these machines new in 2001, I'm looking to see if the machine can still be used. It is limited in what it can do (no images, etc) but it was an easy to use (one button connections) machine.
