Here's the download site for your printer. None of the drivers available for download are for MAC OS of any kind. You might try contacting Sharp from this site to ask about an alternative download page for MAC. It may be that, 1. Sharp does not support MAC for this machine at all or 2. The driver is embedded in some MAC OSs but not others.

On my Sharp AL-1551CS, it is located on the left end underneath the scanner unit.....it is a knob that rotates only 1/4 turn to either lock or unlock.

The scan head locking switch is under the document glass.
If the switch is locked ( ), the machine will not operate. Unlock the switch

Question edited for clarity, 'make model (what it is)'. Question moved from Cars and Trucks. Possibly a misfeed. You can also try a power cycle. Hello, you need to test your machine with a new image unit. If your shadow is gone you have solved your problem. If not you need to take your machine to service.

check your paper size for your original or the cassette paper size they can both cause the scanner to only scan part way. it thinks the paper size is different than what you are using.
