This problem is commonly attributed to a malfunction with the Pressure Switch (also known as a Water Level Switch). The pressure switch is located behind the load size selector knob on the operator console. Before assuming the switch to be bad, however, you need to check the small plastic air hose that attaches to the switch inside the console to make sure it is still connected and does not have any cracks or leaks. The small air hose needs be attached to the pressure switch and have no holes or cracks. Without the air hose attached, the pressure switch will not detect the pressure differential from the wash tub as the washer fills. This is the most common cause of washer overflow problems. It is recommended that you check the entire length of the hose to be sure.
