Brighten lcd screen
OK, you are part right. The Fn key on most laptops is written in BLUE. This corresponds to the BLUE legends on various keys on the keyboard. MOST laptops have a pair of generic symbols for the screen brightness up and down . The brightness UP is a blue square (rectangle) with a large asterisk inside. The brightness DOWN is the same except it has a small asterisk inside. You will usually find these two keys as a secondary function of a function key. Example: On my ACER netbook Fn+F6 = brightness UP and Fn+F5 = brightness DOWN
Installing ubuntu on my acer x483 but it stopped,
Your installation medium may be corrupted. Try downloading Ubuntu again and burn it to disc or use Linux Live (Google it) to load it onto a USB drive to boot from. Once you do that try reinstalling it. Make sure you download the latest version, either 12.04 LTS or 13.10 (currently latest as of Nov 10th). A new version is released every 6 months and a new LTS is released every 2 years. Version number signifies the year (12 for 2012, 13 for 2013) and Month.
Adjusting brightness
To adjust the brightness in your Acer Travelmate, press the [FN] key then press the left or right arrow directional keys which is usually on the lower right-hand side of the keyboard. You will identify the brightness and dim symbol/icon. I hope this is of help. Thank you.
Connect printer
Hi Friend,Could you please elaboate the issue you are facing with the system so that I can fix it quickly.
I cant find my printer. the printer wont show up
Hi Friend,In this case I would recommend, to unplug the printer from the system and also turn off the printer. Waith for 10-15 seconds, and connect the printer to the power socket first wait for a while till it gets ready and then connect the printer to the system and then check if you are able to see the printer or not. Also, let me know when was the last time you were able to use the printer. If the above step fails - Probably its a driver issue so, you have to let me know the make and model# for the printer and I can give you the suitable drivers for the same.
Start xp in dos mode
Try to boot to safe mode and try a system restore if that fails then do a repair installation using the windows xp disc
