20 Most Recent Initial IDM-1731 Portable DVD Player with Screen Questions & Answers

1st, I think the term 'Expert' is used too loosely here, at least for me. LOL. I just had the pleasure of fixing an IDM-1731 with a 'No Disc' error. It just so happens that calibrating the drive helped me out.

For any of you that feel like taking a risk & opening up your player, I urge caution when handling the optical lens. There are 2 pots located above the ribbon on the end that connects to the lens to the left. The 1 on left I touched to the right & that helped me out. I'm thinking that the vibration caused the player to get out of whack as time goes on.

After getting the player to work, I took measurements with my multimeter. The left pot measures 3.06 k ohms & the right measures .965 k ohms. I hope this helps others out as it did for me.

Try several discs. If it happens with all of them it confirms that you have a problem with the disc player. You'll probably need to get a technician to look at it.

It won't unfortunately. The ports on the DVD player itself are output only. You would literally need to open it up and solder input ports onto the board. I'm not sure how skilled you are in this particular area so I wouldn't recommend it. You can't just strip off one of the cables and connect them directly to the monitor because the internal board is responsible for maintaining power levels and recoding the source signal into something compatible for the monitor itself. I wish I had better news for you.

What I recommend you do is take a screwdriver and open the enclosure of the DVD played and look for the connecter port where the white strip was and can be connected to. But, I assume that you mean she pulled (Kids!?) the strip wire that is connected to the lens that reads the DVD's and the board of the DVD player. I have myself seen these connectors so that's what I recommend you do my friend. Hope this works and wish you luck.

Try to check at the side of the unit if there is a audio video output, if there is, it is possible to add another lcd monitor.good day

Make sure the AV connection is not set to output to a TV.
