When the t'stat starts the furnace, 1st the draft inducer motor runs for a few seconds, then the igniter glows and the gas valve opens.The burner then lights, the igniter shuts off. First you have to have a volt ohm meter. next you touch your leads to each switch with the power on. When you come to a switch that gives you a reading that's the open one. Sometimes there is a Manuel reset which will be a stem sticking out of the center of the switch, press it in. If this switch is by the flue, keep an eye on it. This is a high temperature switch in any case. If it is a lower one by the flamewatch the flame as it burns.
