Can't boot

i should have thank u, if u add some more details in ur query, anyway check the following :
1. check if ur power cable is properly connected and free from damage or broken
2. did u see any blinking indicators on ur front panel
3. open the cabinet and look if the fans are spining
4. did u hear any beeps during (POST) startup
***** if ur answer to the above is YES, then
remove all the power connectors (outside and inside) , all the add on cards, RAM sticks, (and also the processor if u have a pair of smart hand), carefully clean and blow out dusts, and reinsert all of them to thier respective places, and try again.
If u find all these solutions useless, ur processor or RAM or mainboard might defective.

Asus Board MOdel Number P4BGL (845 Mxl) is giving an error called Chasis opened or

I read a solution of your problems, i did not ry this. But i want you to try in your motherboard: this was qoute by
" 9. anonobomber, 07-05-2002 09:51 read the manual from your motherboard, I'll quote it for you; Chassis Intrusion Lead (4-1 pin CHASSIS) This requires an external detection mechanism such as a chassis intrusion monitor/microswitch. The sensor is triggered when a high level signal is sent to the Chassis Signal Lead, which occurs when a panel or light detector is triggered. This function works with an optional ASUS CIDB chassis intrusion module (see your vendor for more details). If the chassis intrusion lead is not used, a jumper cap must be placed over the pins to close the circuit.
pinout 1[+5volt] [power supply standby] [chassis signal] [ground]
in order to supress the messages you are getting you will need to get a jumper to fit over the chassis signal and ground to bypass the chassis intrusion detection circuit.
This has nothing to do with resetting the CMOS. For board specific locations of the pins check http://www.asus.com.tw for the manual pertaining to your motherboard"

3 beep

Disconnect all devices from the power supply EXCEPT the motherboard
Remove any extra cards including video etc.(plug monitor into the onboard)

If you hear any beeps these can indictate where the fault is.
either of these sites below will help you further with that

Beep codes Pc

More beep codes

Power up the pc and see if the fans are working.
If not then double check the power connections to the board.

If you still have no fans it is time to suspect the power supply as the probable cause.

If the fans worked then you should have gotten a display which told you there was an error and offering you a chance to go into the BIOS. ignore it and shut down the PC.

Now connect one drive only and boot again.

Repeat that until you identify the component that is giving you a problem.

Once you find the problem then remove or disconnect and carry on with the rest to see if another component might also cause a problem

If there is only one problem device then you may want to investigate that device further, Unless you don't mind replacing it
