Hi!
The printer counts every single droplet ejected by the print head due to waste ink absorber capacity. When the waste ink counter rise to about 90 % the printer shows message 'Waste Ink Absorber Near Full'; in this stage we can still continue printing by pressing Resume button until waste ink absorber capacity reach 100% and 'Waste Ink Absorber is Full' appears.
To fix this problem you have to reset waste ink counter to 0%. Even though we can just reset waste ink counter without resetting waste ink counter, it strongly recommended that you replace waste ink absorber to prevent ink flooding inside the printer.
To reset waste ink counter, perform the following steps:

• Plug in power cable
• While pressing Resume button press and hold Power button (do nor release the buttons)
• Release Resume button (still hold Power button)
• Press Resume button twice in a row (still hold Power button), after that release both Resume and Power button (then the printer standing bye)
• Press Resume button 4 times then turn off the printer

In this stage your printer has operated as usual.

Some printers can connect either to a "parallel-port" or to a "USB-port" on a computer.

So, if you have one cable connecting your printer to your computer, then the other cable is "surplus" to your needs.

Follow this link select your operating system from the pulldown box, and download the driver for your operating system. From there run the file you download and then your printer will be installed. If you still have issue give me the exact error and step you were at when you are having the problem.

Change to Mono or Black in printer preferences.

The user manual does not talk about specific error codes. From other forum I belong to, it looks like it may be a bad printhead. If that is it, Canon says to call support. I suspect the cost of a new printhead would be more than the printer is worth.

My best suggestion for you is to contact Canon directly via the web or a local dealer and see if they have a listing errors. I just searched the www.canonusa.com "knowledge base" and did not find that error code listed. Don

The problem is likely to come from your printer settings in your printer properties dialog box. Right-click the printer icon and select Properties. You will see within the dialog where to set the printer to print on black only and then appropriate. restart your pc and then try sending to printer again. Good luck

sorry... only the #2 & the #3 carts will work with your printer... no other cart will. this is the reason why lexmark printers are inexpensive... cuz their carts are expensive. call 1800 539 6275... thats lexmark store #... order carts on the phone.. it might work out cheaper that buying from a store
