Waste ink near full message??

The replacement of the waste tank requires the disassembly of the printer and the replacement of the tank with a replacement kit. Typically the kit will cost around $25 and the labor at a service dealer about $75. Get a couple of quotes before taking the printer in. Your other option is to go to a newer printer since you can find one for about the same price as repairing your current one.

My printer has stopped printing

Hi,
There is few trouble shooting steps which can prove whether this is a printer or a cartridge issue. First print a Config Report from the printers menu. This would be on the fourth being the bottom square for Magenta. If you see this is faded then it indicate that the optical mirrors inside the printer have to be cleaned. After cleaning it the colours still appear faded or does not print then need to replace the printer as its not a particular part that you can replace on your own.
Please accept the solution if this assisted you.

New Computer problems with printer

It probably will not ... check theMiocrosoft Compatability List here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx to see if the F80 is listed. (My F80 died inthe USB department)

If there is a entry at the MS site, follow their instruction. Otherwise, go to www.canon.com/support and look for a driver that will operate under your OS. If there is not one, you can ask for one ... but you are probably at the end of the road with this printer. We use ours for a copy machine since the faulty power supply prohibits its communicating with the computer.

No Windows 7 driver for a Canon F80

Good idea, Windows 7 is NO good if your equipment is less than a few months old... Pre 2008 stuff just isn't compatible. IMHO Win 7 is OK for brand new stuff, Otherwise I stick to XP... see everything works with XP..or nearly so.

How do empty the 'used toner tank' on the canon

Hi
A "CHECK PRINTER" message is a general error warning, only by turning on the Error Management SSW#1 will you obtain an error code number. This may or may not be a waste ink warning, it could also indicate a head tempreture or other error.
Any Authorized Canon Dealer would know how to enter the service mode on this unit and effect repairs

My color printer wil only print in black

Make sure that you have it in the correct mode to print; in color rather than in black.
If it is in color, check that the color cartridge is firmly snapped into place. If it is also snapped properly in position, remove it and check that the tape covering the ink release is removed.

Alarm light flashing and push resume doesn't work.

You need a shop to help with that. At this point it could be anything, paper jam, purge assembly stuck, printhead bad, etc.

It will need the ink absorbers replaced, replaced by a shop, the parts are only around $15.00 but it's a complete dis-assembly and also service mode is needed to reset the counters.
