Black ink ot working

Probably out of black ink. Check on your panel and see if there is a light that is on for Black Ink which means it's low. Also on your PC there should be an icon called Canon My Printer (if not on desktop you can find it in bottom left side click and then click all programs). Once you start that program you can check printer status. If low there's a way to bypass that in the program.

My Cannon ip pixma 2000 is saying that the waste

The waste ink absorber is actually a pad/sponge that absorbs left over ink spray. There's really no precise way to measure the amount of ink these pads hold so when the message first appears, "waste ink absorber is almost full" it's just an estimate.

The workaround for the message is as follows:

Reset ip2000 / 3000

1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal.

Using the above procedure should clear the message and your printer should function normally afterward. Best of luck and thanks for using Fixya!

Am getting an error - ink absorber is full - what

There are basically 3 solutions to your problem.
  1. Reset the printer to clear the fault
  • Turn the printer off with the Power button (if available).

  • Disconnect the data cable from the printer (not applicable to WiFi, Bluetooth or Infrared) .

  • Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in. If troubleshooting a communication issue, reconnect the data cable (not applicable to WiFi, Bluetooth or Infrared).

  • Turn the printer back on.
If this is unsuccessful, then the machine needs to be repaired. Canon does not recommend repairing/replacing the waste ink tank yourself. If you choose to make the repair yourself the waste ink tank is actually a sponge that absorbs waste ink. You can either purchase a replacement pad/sponge and install it or thoroughly wash out the old one and let it completely dry prior to reinstalling it.

There is also a reset code to Resume printer and temporarily remove the error as follows:

1 - press resume button and then press power button
2 - realese the resume button and press 2 more times then realese both
3 - press and release resume 4 times and power 2 times

I hope you find this answer useful and that is solves your problem. All the best!

I keep getting error message 5100 how can I fix

This error means that there is something obstructing the printing process. Check inside your printer through the gears that you can see under the lid. There should be something obstructing the gears such as dirt or other small debris. Check VERY thoroughly with a flashlight.

Get "canned air" at any computer or office supply store and blow the inside of the printer out as much as possible. Invariably, the debris will loosen up and come out.

The message 'waste ink absorber' nearly full

Hi

Unless you are complelty happy taking items like this apart i would suggest taking it to a local qualified computer shop or repair centre. The waste tank or absorber is a collection of all the waste ink that has ever occured when cleaning the printheads or even charging cartridges when its had new cartridges fitted.

Unfortunetly it is rarely just a case of replacing the pads or tank but also normally requires the system to be reset to prevent the printer halting altogether.

Thanks

My waste ink absorber is full on my canonip2000.

Dis-asemble the printerr. Find the blotter felt absorber. Replace it or spend a lot of time rinsing it out till it becomes a light grey color and re-install it. Use the printer maintenance software for your printer to RESET the ink counter within the printer.

Waste ink absorber is full. how to clear this

Canon recommend that you need to bring the printer to your local service provider, canon will not provide Joe Public with the replacement parts as consumables and even more importantly they will not provide the software to reset the error message.

From what I can see there is a hardware routine type fix for the problem,

Try
1. Unplug power and USB.
2. Open door and hold power button.
3. Connect power.
4. Close door, then release power button.
or

Try
1. Turn off the printer. And disconnect the printer cable.
2. Press and HOLD the POWER button, turn on the printer.
3. The indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
4. Press and release the RESUME button, the indicator (L.E.D.) should be orange.
5. Press and release the RESUME button again, the indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
6. Release both buttons.
If this hardware routine type fix works it is at best merely a temporary fix, and needs to be repeated on a regular basis to keep the printers running. For a more permanent solution you need to combine the fix with the more complicated task of removing the pads and cleaning them. This is where the whole process can go disastrously wrong, the ink is permanent and will stain hands, clothes and furniture if it comes into contact with them. Check out the info on this website and on your own head be it

There are a number of websites which claim to provide the software fixes however using these is a kin to sailing in uncharted waters, it is your own choice however I would be hesitant to recommend it to anyone especially if there are a few government secrets on your hard disk

My advice is to find out how much your local service center will charge you to replace the ink absorber, then decide whether it is worth the expense. And when it comes time to change the printer remember canon's have ink absorbers which need to be changed by a service engineer

Won't print red

Red is a combination of Magenta and Yellow. Print a nozzle check and observe for Magenta, Yellow and cyan. If the three colours are printed, no problem with the cartridge. Then it must be the problem of seeing colours in your monitor. .

Ip 2000 waste ink absorber full

You need a shop to replace the ink absorber and reset the counter. The absorbers are under the print engine and cover the entire bottom of the printer.
