ERROR NUMBER 5200

Hi,

Turn off printer, unplug power cord and usb or parallel/usb cables .
wait for 15minutes and connect all cables back on then turn power on.
it should work if it does not work then seems you have problem with
head/logic board so that needs to be replaced.
if that's case, better see printer Tech to have the part replaced.

HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE PRINT HEAD? WHERE ARE SOME

OK, since nobody answered my plea for help, I merely opened the Canon monster and yanked out the printhead after lifting up the lever. (WHAT was so hard about that, that nobody could explain it here?!)
Cleaned printhead using warm water & ice-cube tray & paper towels. Just let it soak all the excess ink out for a while, then allowed it to dry.
Changed cartridges, put new color cartridge in...
HOWEVER!!
THE DA*NED THING STILL WON'T PRINT YELLOW (altho it will print a faint hint of yellow). WHY IS IT DOING THIS?
Why is Canon marketing such a piece of cr*p that the end-user cannot maintain it? Canon USED to be a quality name-brand.

How do i clean the waste ink absorber?

Turn the printer on.
Lift the cover, to expose the print-head.
Let the print-head slide away from its "resting" position,
which is immediately above the waste-ink absorber.
Unplug the printer, to cut the AC power.
Put on a pair of surgical gloves -- ink on your hands is bad.
Take some soft single-use towels, and push them into absorber, to "stuck" (without the "t" -- this web-site bans the use of the word s*ck) the waste-ink out of the absorber.
