I have a CANON MP780. Can I print on 8.5 X 14

I believe that is the size of "legal paper". Yes you can print on that size paper. Follow this string. Go to start, all programs, Canon utilities, my printer, printer settings, locate paper size on the Main tab and select legal. This will set the printer to the wanted paper size.

The color ink tanks are not printing

The print heads are probably clogged: try running a few 'cleaning' cycles (with genuine Canon cartridges preferably).

Hi, If you didn't used your inkjet printer for a long time the most common problem is that the nozzles of the print head are clogged with ink, so no ink can go down to the paper and that's why you see a blank sheet of paper. What you can do is Deep Head Cleaning from the printer properties menu a couple of times. If this does not help you will need to replace the print head

When using the color printing

The customer is seeing vertical lines in the colour prints. The problem happens if the print head is dirty or faulty. The customer had already run maintenance cycles. So the only option left is to take out the colour cartridges and clean the print head with a tissue paper or lint free cloth. He has to clean carefully but thoroughly. He is trying that, This will solve his problem.

Error 6800

Error code 357 has to do with the print head & waste tank.

You can try and fix it yourself by performing the following:

-Turn off the printer.
-Open the top & both doors.
-Manually slide the ink cartridge carrier to the left.
-When you look back where the ink parks you will see a rectangular white assembly with 1 long & 2 short plastic tabs standing vertically.
-clean these carefully with a cotton swab & rubbing alcohol. They don't have to be perfect.
-NOW HERE IS THE HARD PART. Carefully reach around to the back of this assembly & move it forward. It should slide front to back easily. If it doesn't it's probably stuck with some dried ink.
Once this is free, slide the ink tray back, close evedrything up & start your printer.
The problem should disappear

Hi vwang,

Here's what you can try to resolve the issue of getting "Wrong Cartridge":

1. Turn of your printer and unplug the power cord then, unplug it from your computer.

2. Remove all the ink cartridges then the print head.

3. Clean the print head using a rubbing alcohol. Wipe the back and bottom of your printhead.

4. Lastly, put everything back and turn on your printer.

If still you're getting the same error message after doing the steps above then you will have to install new print head to your printer.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.
