Ip4200 manual alignment
Remove print head and mix 1 oz. ammonia to 180 degree 8 oz. hot water for 30 minutes.
Completely dry unit with air duster etc. and put back into machine.
Do a nozzle check and see if it gets better if so try a deep clean or redo step 1.
If no black a new print head is needed and I have one.
Printer prints top 1" of page, then just spits out blank pages
If the printer works ok on another PC, it seems quite clear that the problem is definately software (Driver) related. If you haven't done so already, I recommend adding the printer through the Printer\Faxes Add Printer Wizard and pointing it to take the drivers off the install CD (if you have one) rather than installing the printer from the CD Autorun. Just make sure that you've deleted the printer completely from Printers\Faxes and rebooted before each install attempt.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,

Canon mg5250 continually says 'no paper' there is
The problem we had (which is very likely to be the same cause as yours) is when we removed some torn jammed paper, it had somehow pulled off a spring from inside the machine. The spring was linked to the paper jam sensor. It does involve a LOT of work to fix it, and unless you are very 'techy' it may be quite a difficult task to do this for the 'average' person. I had to completely disassemble the machine: Take off the front first (lift up the cover and there is 2 screws at the front and 2 clips on the bottom of the machine) Then remove the 2sides and finally the top (screws should be easy to see, to get the sides off, un-clip along the front edges and gently move them outwards and slide them backwards to release the clips on the back) being careful with the wires going to the scanner part). Then look for the fuser unit which is near the top at the back, there is a black rounded cover over the fuser. To remove the cover, look for 2 small clips one at each side and unclip the cover and gently lift upwards. Under the cover on the left side you will see a small plastic rod which goes from the left side to a small tab in the middle, if you look about half way along that rod you should see a tiny spring, make sure this is clipped on properly and that you are able to rotate the rod and it should spring back to the proper position when you let go. Once this is done, put it all back together again and it should work fine.
Ink doesn't run
If you are scanning wirelessly, you have to launch the epson scan software from your computer and scan to e-mail from there. You can scan using either professional or home mode. Please take note that scanning from the printer only supports direct connection, which means you have to plug in the printer to your computer via a usb cable. If you cannot launch epson scan, please let me know. And include the operating system that you are using too.
My canon pixma mp780 printer is giving the message
1. Remove the front printer cover.
2. Then take out the ink.
3. Next pull up the gray lever and take out the printer head.
4. Now go to the sink and start running the hot water. Then slowly and gently run the hot water over the metal part of the printer head. Use a soft tissue and gently clean the dry ink out.
5. Now dry the printer header with a soft cloth and wait for it to dry before placing it back into the printer.
6. Turn on your printer and see if it works now.
Clear Paper Jam error -- but there is no paper jam!
Sometimes while clearing the jam (if there was one) you may leave a bit of paper left behind which obscures a sensor causing it to think there is paper still in the paper path, or sometimes even paper dust can do it. Try a bottle of compressed air and blow the path out very well. Get a bright light (good flashlight) and very throroughly eyeball the paper path for any "foreign" objects...
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SCAN MORE THAN ONE PAGE
I know, I could go on the Internet, find your manual, read it, and learn if this machine has an Automatic Document Feeder. But I am not going to do that. It is a lot more than scanning three pages.
Anyway, IF the machine has an ADF, sort your pages, insert the stack with the TOP of the documents first. The recto of a page must be facing UP The ADF will sense that some action is coming. Press the Scan button on the machine. The connection to the computer must have been established before pressing SCAN. Also, the computer must have some software to open the scanned document.
You can also use the scanning software installed on your computer.
Will print test page but will not print anything
HiI'm guessing that you click on "test printer" on the PC, and the test print will come out. That shows that there is a connection, but it tells us little else. If you still have the original software, I suggest reloading it, as you may have inadvertently deleted the driver - a little bit of software that will send messages from the PC that the printer understands. The driver can also become corrupted or damaged. If you no longer have the software, Canon will have it on their website, I'm sure.Hope this helps.
