I have a line that
On your scanner, there is something (dust?) that is blocking that part of the scanner from scanning that column on the scanned document. Clean the scanning-head.
Document is scanning upside down
Easiest way to confront this problem is to rotate the material being scanned.
If you find the image of the item is being inverted then simply rotate the material being scanned by 180 degrees.
Additionally most scanning software will have a ROTATE function where you can rotate the image of the scanned material, usually in 90 degree increments which can be useful for editing purposes. You may find this function under Edit or Image in your scanning software.
Good luck!

It might be that you have dust on the inside of the glass that is causing the problem. It might be possible to replace the scanning elements. You might try some compressed air to see if you can get enough pressure below the glass to dislodge whatever is causing the problem.
I clean the glass but there are still black
Try scanning the same document in two diff brightness levels (in B&W, say one at 75 and other at say 210. I am assuming you are using CapturePerfect. If the black streaks are same in both the images, then it could be scan module problem. If the streaks vary in size, then it is definitely dirt on the glass. use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to clean the glass. DONT USE solvents.

Please clean the glass with isopropyl alcohol, dont use solvents. It must be dust sticking on to the glass surface.

Scanner produces streaks
It's possible that the black lines you're experiencing are an internal
image adjustment issue with the scanner itself. If the scanner glass is
otherwise clean, try going to the Canon DR2050/2080 utilities installed
as part of the set up of your scanner and running the Adjustment Tool -
it asks you to place the "adjustment paper" in the scanner. The term,
"adjustment paper," appears to mean anything which has an image or text
on it. Be sure you clean the scanner first before running this utility.
It will have you put the "adjustment paper" through twice, and that in
turn should remove the black lines in your scans, as long as there is
no dust on the scanner glass. Office Depot sells cleaner sheets for
laser and inkjet printers which also work on faxes and scanners and which will clean the glass for you.
Thin, dark vertical line on
Hi.
If the problem is not caused by dirt, then that means that there is a faulty CCD sensor in the CCD sensor array used by the scanner to capture the scanned picture.
Contact Canon at the number listed on the owners manual to find out if the part is available and if it is worth replaceing.
Regards.

Canon DR-2050C Scanner gets verticle line down image
I have the same issue with mine and there are 2 image sensors on this scanner. 1 in the back that you will see when you open the front that has a meteal shield covering the top half, and one in the fold out front that faces the inside. These are the "glass" sections everyone is refering to. Problem is, they are plexiglass, not glass and mine has a tiny scratch in the lens that is causing the line. This could be your problem. find the lens and use a LED flashlight to inspect your lens for scratches. If its scratched like mine, the entire module has to be replaced to fix it. The canon part number is MH7-7038 and they range from $125-$160 if you replace it yourself. The one in the front is easy to do, but the back one is a little tricky. Hope this helps. E. Can I share my Scanner on a Local Area Network?
no, but what you can do is hook it up the computer and share that file to the network. for example, if you scan it, you'll have to use that computer to load the images to that file. and all the other computers on the network can see that file. you can do that. let me know if you need more info.
