Will Only Scan Color and single sided

Once I had a similar problem with CapturePerfect 2.0. No amount of setting will change the scan output. I hit the default option and then changed to the setting I wanted. It worked. May be there is a bug in the Scanning software. S. Mohan, India

Line on Blank Pages

You need to go farther than the lens glass. The dust is actually on the photo board itself. I'm assuming that the problem is on the bottom scanning side. You will need to dis assemble the scanner to remove the scanning unit. This can be done by remove the back, the sides, and the two front pieces. Once inside remove the silver metal cover over the rollers. This will help you get the actually scanning equipment out. Remove the black scanning unit behind the silver metal cover.

Make sure to ground yourself before continuing or you could short the boards.
Under the lens glass there are three boards. Two are visible. One is white, long and skinny. On the backside one is green. The one you need to get to is hidden between the black piece, and silver metal piece. There should be 6 screws that you will need to remove first.
Very gently pry the plastic from the metal. The problem that you are looking for is there.
Wipe the photo cells with an alcohol swab, and you should be good to go.

Having multiples feed even after replacing roller

Try rotating the sep roller backwards to reset the planetary gear. if that dont work you may have to adjust the stopper to allow the sep roller to move closer to the pick roller.

Not skipping blank pages. Hardware or software?

This is a software issue. Assuming you are using CapturePerfect ver 3, there is an option to 'skip blank pages', but how does the software know it is blank? Even stray dots can be data! So you decide the 'percentage', based on which the software 'drops' data.

My canon dr-3080 cii is

Scanner will continue to scan at the same Speed! The problem is in the computer. Check if you have enough disk space, do a 'defrag' on your harddisk, create extra space by deleting unwanted files. IF your processor is slow and if you are scanning in color or converting to PDF while scanning, it may slow down the output.

When I scan a page I am getting a completely black

Total Blank page could be because of wrong settings or Hardware Failure. Check the settings first, try Auto brightness to start with. If the output is still not okay, try a different document. (The Auto adjusts the brightness by checking the first few millimeters of the document). Try scanning in both color and B&W and with different brightness levels. After all this, if the output is still black, it may be hardware failure or a loose connection.

I am getting a thick

You need to adjust the position center of the scan materials.. The scanner pulls sheets fronm the center of the feeder. Using a single sample page to scan.. You need to move the feed guides the same distance as your black line - either to left or right as appropiate.. (Which side is the mark?) to find the center w/out leaving black line edges. Keep adjusting it till you eliminate the black line. Foxed me good first time I saw it..

The scanner only scan one side fully

If the bottom is vertically split, then there could be some problem in the hardware (bottom scanning module) Check for loose contacts. If it is cut horizontally, it must be definitely loose contat problem.

I'm sure the adjustment sheet is printed when you do a print test with the Canon control program, look in the windows programs menu for the Canon group and you should find the right program to run.

We are only getting half of the scanned document.

Check your software settings on page size. Have you by chance switched 'on' to scan a page into two halves?

Canon DR-3080 CII Scanner

I recieved this error when trying to scan pages in using our new Kofax scanning solution with a DR-3080CII. I discovered that the latest canon driver for that scanner was not compatible with the software and it made the application hang in the background. I found an older driver that was compatible and installed it, no more error.

Why does the scanner hesitate when feeding the paper through the scanner and gives a scanned double image at the top of the page?

Is there a gear grinding noise associated with this? If so, call your local dealer for service. If not:Clean all the rollers you can reach with a cloth dampened with alcohol. Check for any obstructions in the paper path like torn paper, heavy toner buildup on guide plates or the edges of the scanning glass, or any paper guides obviously loose or out of place.

The 3 paper sensors are located along the center of the paper path. They are: Registration (lever type) on the bottom between separation & registration. Look for lever damage or torn paper. Scan Start (reflective) on the top between registration & front reading roller. Clean the sensor window with qtip & alcohol. Delivery (lever) at the eject roller. Same as reg, but harder to see due to location. The feed roller exchange kit is 6915A001. The rollers in this machine are not considered user replaceable.

I have a Canon DR-3080CII scanner that is making a lot of noise.

If you haven't had problems then they are probably fine. The feed rollers are rated for 500K pages, and usually last at least half that even under severe duty.  Regular light cleanings by the operator are recommended. Once a year a service tech should do a more thorough cleaning of the transport rollers & sensors. When the rollers do wear out, you can purchase them from online retailers like ScannerSolutions.com, but they aren't designed for easy user installation. Call your local dealer for a quote; the extra expense is worth the saved effort, and they should do a complete cleaning at the same time.
