Be-300

The password is an easy thing to get rid of. The problem is, a full factory restore is required. First do a hard reset and then restore the BE300 to factory defaults. The password will be reset.

Hard Reset: Press and hold the Power Button. At the same time, press the rest button on the left side of the device with the stylus (pen). You will see a blue scroll saying Initializing. Press and hold the OK button. Once the Initializing is done, the BE300 will go into the Safe Mode screen. Press OK and follow the instructions to the Restore Screen. From here, you can perform a Factory Restore but you need the original CD or a download of the Factory Restore BIN file.

For full BE-300 support, go to www.be300.org It's dedicated to the BE300 and everything you will need is there.

A Factory Restore will fix the password but you need to do a hard reset to get to the restore screen. Press and hold the power button. At the same time, press the reset button on the left side of the device with the stylus (pen). You will see a blue sroll saying Initializing. Press and hold the OK button. Once the scroll is finished, you will get the Safe Mode Screen. From there, press the OK button and follow the instruction until you get to the Restore Screen. From there, you can do a factory restore if you have the original CD or have the factory restore BIN file. Everything is available at www.be300.org

By the way, there are also newer operating environments available for the BE300. They will turn it into an almost fully functional Pocket PC will fully functional Today Screen.

BE-300-How do I open it to remove the touch screen?

As I remember it has some plastic bulges that fit into some indentations. Some gentle prying toward the bottom should show you some success. To get the things that hold it together apart you need to press in on one part and lift up on the other, but don't remember which. If you don't get it email me and I will go dig my old one out of the junk box and see which is which. It, by the way has a good screen/touchscreen I think, the light circuit got busted on it and I can't get parts.

Synching Groupwise with a Cassiopeia BE300

Check out Intellisync 5.01. It works for us, but it definitely is not as simple as with a Palm. There are a few quirks, but it does work. My biggest complaint was that you have to manually copy their "Windows CE Autorun Manager" to your startup folder or the Groupwise info. will not automatically be sync'd everytime you sync with ActiveSync. In their defense though, I think most of the issues are because of ActiveSync.

Be-300, Jk-710dc

I don't have the camera, but I would expect it will store those images in My Documents either in the Nand Dick area or (preferably) on the CF card. You would transfer them either through Copy and Paste with an Active Sync connection, or a PCConnect folder sync, or also with PCConnect using copy and paste within beXplore. Another method would be to remove your CF card and use a CF card reader connected to your PC, usually via USB. Or you could try a can opener ;-)

BE300 and PC Connect

If you have active sync installed it will stop pc sync from operating properly. If you don't have active sync on your system then go to the below forum and do a search for info on syncing. There are issues with pc sync that have been remedied with some updates.
