It might be one of the following: 1. Voltage changeover selector switch has blown - check if the power is still there before it enters the switch and still there after it leaves. 2. Breaker has failed on that leg - test before and after to see if working correctly 3. The plug socket has failed - Look for burn marks where wiring enters. 3. It should be used on a 20 amp circuit. the 15 amp is the maximum your circuit will deliver. on startup it may exceed the limit. also your circuit may or may not deliver the power for a sustained time. do not use extension cord small than 12 gauge

Choose your brand

Remove spark plug. Pour a small amount of a lubricant like Marvel Mystery Oil in and allow to soak for a day or two. Repeat this process at least two times. Then try to turn the engine over slowly by hand. Do not use the pull rope or starter. You need to use a wrench, pry bar, etc. You may have to remove the engines cover to access the flywheel to turn it.

You might have a thermal issue with the ignition coil shutting down after it gets warm. Happens.

It's your carburetor. You'll have to clean it out, rebuild it, or buy a new one. The float pin is getting stuck so it's either the float or dirt inside. Make sure you turn the gas off after each use of your generator or it will eventually happen if there's dirt in the tank. Don't forget to change out the oil before you start it again or you'll have fireworks.

Your carburater is probably stuck open. The linkage on it is kind of flimsy. I have had to clean many mouse nests out of many machines. Look it over and check to see if the butterfly valve linkage on the top is moving with the speed adjuster.

Does your motor run at the same RPMs that it did before? It sounds like your motor is running to slow to produce the 120V ac.

But it could also be that you have one or more diodes blown.

Since the generator is selling for $1,100.00 on several sites, make sure that you don't spend more for repair parts/labor than what you can replace it for.

Anything can be repaired, but some aren't economically repairable. So if you have to pay someone to work on your generator, it might be better to replace han repair.

Fuel Starvation - Float Bowl Carburetor
1) remove air filter assembly
*be cautious of tearing the mounting gasket. If it does tear, you HAVE to replace it. It is part of the priming system
2) remove the float bowl fastener. This is the main jet
3) carefully remove the float bowl, the rubber o-ring/gasket will not be able to be used if it is removed, you WILL have to replace it
4) using a spray 'carb cleaner'
spray up thru the center of the carburetor
spray and clean the main jet with cleaner and 'tag' wire
(tag wire is very thin, and can be used to clean the hole in the center of the main jet)
5) clean any debris from inside the bowl or carb body
6) re-install bowl and center bolt, air filter assembly
