Computer got you stressed?....................Life getting you down?...Feel like if one more tiny problem comes up, you're just going to end it all?.........GET OVER IT!"$^&%^*&& HELP ME PLEASE #@%^&&^%^&*"Don't ever come to this website, and post that againHelp me please?..................YesMoving on................An external monitor worksGood. This way you know the problem is either the Video Cable, or inside the Display Assembly.Video Cable:With the Compaq Presario C700 series of Notebook PC's, the Video Cable connects to the motherboard; in an area under the Keyboard, and Switch Cover. (Above the F4 key)It then leads under the left Hinge, and up into the Display Assembly. From there a small cable branches off, and connects to one side of the Screen Inverter. The main part of the Video Cable, goes on to connect to the back of the LCD screen.Example of Video Cable,http://www.amazon.com/G7000-Compaq-presario-Video-cable/dp/B005NEPKTEThe large connector on the Right side, connects to the back of the LCD screen. The smaller connector shown at Bottom connects to the motherboard. The small cable leading up to the Top/Left, connects to the screen Inverter.http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-COMPAQ-Presario-CQ50-CQ60-HP-Pavilion-G50-G60-G70-LCD-INVERTER-486556-001-US-/281024427508?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item416e5c75f4Just from repeated normal opening, and closing of the laptop; the Video Cable may become pinched, and pulled on. Sheath of Video Cable also hardens over time, and this also adds to the equation. However, this laptop has been dropped. There's a real good chance of a problem with the Video Cable.Pulling on it can lead to the connections coming loose.Motherboard side, screen Inverter cable, and LCD screen side.Procedure is to go through the various connections, and PHYSICALLY check them. Try to plug them in tighter.Motherboard connection:1) Remove ALL power. Remove the AC adapter (Charger), and Battery.2) Disconnect the Keyboard, HOWEVER do not disconnect the Keyboard Cable from the motherboard.Once Keyboard is removed from Palm Rest Cover, take the LCD screen side, and roll the Keyboard over.Bottom side up, lay on Palm Rest Cover.3) Now remove the Switch Cover. The Switch Cover is the wide strip of plastic, above the Keyboard, and below the Display Assembly. The Switch Cover is just that........a Cover. No wires attached.Physically check motherboard connection.Reinstall power. Turn laptop on.No change?Remove ALL power again.LCD screen side connection and screen Inverter connection:4) The plastic frame in front of the LCD screen, is the Display Bezel.Remove it.Right behind the Display Bezel, and mounted on the bottom/middle of the Screen Frame; is the screen Inverter.Just physically check the screen Inverter connection, but go on to the LCD screen side connection. The LCD screen is an assembly of layers. These layers are held in the factory set position, by a metal Screen Frame.Resembles a picture frame.Attached on either side of the Screen Frame, are Brackets. The brackets are attached to the Hinges, and the whole assembly is just referred to as a Hinge. There are screws that hold the Hinge brackets to the Screen Frame. There are also screws that hold the Screen Frame together.Be SURE as to which screws you remove. You do not want to remove the Screen Frame screws.Remove the screw that hold the Hinges to the Screen Frame.Tilt the Top of the LCD screen forward towards you, and physically check the LCD screen side connection; of the Video Cable.Lay the LCD screen back, put a screw in on each side, to temporarily hold the LCD screen in place.Reinstall all power. Turn the laptop on.Still no joy?Remove the Video Cable. The Video Cable needs to have a continuity test performed, with a multimeter set to OHM's. (1K)Every wire in the Video Cable is checked. No reading on a wire indicates a stretched/broken wire.An assistant should also be used, to gently wiggle the Video Cable while checking. An intermittent reading on the multimeter indicates a stretched/broken wire.Or take the Video Cable down to the nearest small computer repair shop, and have the resident tech check it for continuity.Should only be a coupla' bucks. The Video Cable MUST be ruled out, before going on........5) Video Cable checks out OK, or a replacement is used; and still no display on laptop's internal monitor, the screen Inverter is next in the diagnosis. To test a screen Inverter requires a sensitive multimeter. Read fairly expensive,http://www.fonerbooks.com/test.htmDue to this, the ease of accessing to replace, and the usually low cost; the screen Inverter is just replaced.6) If the new replacement screen Inverter brings no joy, then the problem is the LCD screen.HP Support > Compaq Presario C700 series of Notebook PC > Manuals > Service Manual,http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=3559331&Scroll down, and click on -HP G7000 Notebook PC and Compaq Presario C700 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service GuideAt the top is the Adobe Reader page number boxPage 21 is the start of the Illustrated Parts Catalog. The next page shows you an exploded drawing of the laptop.Page 58 - KeyboardPage 61 - Switch CoverPage 63 - Display Assemblyhttp://armbrust.dyndns.org/tips/presario700/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nALcYwgVCZkThe F700 HAS wires to the Switch Cover. The C700 does not.Just posting to give you a hands on look, instead of just a Service Manual.02:59 - Here you can see how I described LEAVING, the Keyboard Cable attached to the motherboard, and just rolling the Keyboard over onto the Palm Rest Cover. In Spanish, but a 'Picture is worth a thousand words', they say,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55Wcej_K3agNot the Presario C700, but shows in better detail on releasing the Lock Clips (Detents), at the Top of the Keyboard,http://www.insidemylaptop.com/hp-2000-laptop-disassembly/Specifically photos in Steps 9 through 11.Regards,joecoolvette(You won't need an ESD wrist strap for this procedure. However if you have one, wear it by all means.IF, you remove the Palm Rest Cover, then you better be wearing an ESD wrist strap; and have it's alligator clip attached to a good ground source )

Visit Compaq's website and look for the webcam driver from there. If you already have the driver but you want it updated, then you can use RadarSync to update it automatically. David
Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it could be faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact. Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.
go into device manager and find the cd/dvd device on your list. uninstall it. then run the check for hardware changes in the menu bar. and it should find it and reinstall it
1) You can restore the computer to some data that your know was working good.2) go to the control panel and then Sound open the icon and adjust the speakers.3) you can disable the driver and update the driver for sound from the www.hp.comGod bless you
Hello,Have you tried using a different gadget or computer that has the ability to connect to the internet wirelessly? If all connect without any problem, then you just need to update the device driver of your compaq. WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL. http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules Only work inside the computer case when the power has been switched off and disconnected. Never open the power source. Some of the below steps recommend removing physical parts within the computer. While in the computer it is highly recommend that you be aware of ESD and its potential hazards Remove the memory modules from their slots. Take the opportunity to clean the slots on the motherboards and the memory module connectors. Use compressed air to blow dust away and clean contacts with a soft cloth. Do not use a metallic vacuum cleaner if it touches any component it may create a short and cause damage to the motherboard or other components. Do not use solvent that may attract dust and never poke things like cotton buds in to slots. lightly rub an alcohol on a cloth not to hard let the alcohol do the work on the copper gold or silver tabs and r Allow the pins to dry. They will air dry in a matter of minutes If reseating the memory did not resolve the issue try swapping the location of the memory. If you have only one stick of memory in the computer try moving it to another slot and then boot the computer. Check the memory module and memory slot contacts. They are either copper tin or gold. The colour will tell you which they are. Mixing tin and gold can result in corrosion that prevents proper contact. Look for any sign of physical damage to the memory module, memory slots or the motherboard. Reseat the memory modules. You should hear an audible click when they are in place. Do not use too much force to reseat the memory module in to the slot this can cause damage to the module, slot or motherboard. The hardware that you are trying to access is damaged or failing.Capacitor Capacitors, sometimes also called condensers, are used to store energy in an electric field. In the context of computing, capacitors are used to block the direct current being circulated around the motherboard. A typical capacitor should last up to 15 years, but some computer manufacturers use substandard capacitors resulting in shorter lifetimes. Computer Problems b> When a capacitor has gone bad on a computer you may experience a large range of problems. The computer may have trouble booting up, or it may shut down without notice after running for only a short period of time. The most common problems associated with faulty capacitors are that they cause unexpected computer crashes and general reliability issues ranging from read/write issues to distorted screen images. b> Identifying a Bad Capacitor b> To identify a bad capacitor you will need to open your computer case and locate the capacitors on your motherboard. A bad capacitor may exhibit swelling at the top or the base of the capacitor or it may sit at an awkward angle with the motherboard, so compare the various capacitors in your computer in terms of and placement. Additionally, a bad capacitor may have a funny smell or it may have a brownish residue leaking from the top or the base. b> Prevention b> Manufacturers claim that capacitors may go bad because a computer is not receiving enough power from a power supply, because of an overclocked processor or because a computer is operating in an environment with too much heat or humidity. However, some capacitors prematurely fail due to faulty work on the part of the manufacturer. If you have a bad capacitor be sure to do research as to the lifespan of other products made by your manufacturer. Could be a problem with the Hard Drive or the Hard drives PCB http://www.onepcbsolution.com/ There is a connection problem such as a bad cable Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive SATA the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO THE HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty. Although it would be very rare for the sata lead to be faulty. Make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty Computers need power and data to travel through every working device and continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
Step 1: The touchpad of Hewlett Packard Compaq notebook computers comes equipped with vertical and horizontal scroll capabilities. Dragging your finger on the top or side of the touchpad will scroll in windows equipped with scrollbars. This feature takes some getting used to if you're used to a regular mouse or a wheel equipped mouse. If you prefer to not have vertical and horizontal scrolling performed from the touchpad, one or both features can be disabled. Double-click the red Synaptics icon on your task bar. If it's not displaying, open the Control Panel and click on "Mouse" in Windows XP. In Windows Vista/7, type "Mouse" in the search field of the "Start" menu and click on the Mouse result. Click on the "Device Settings" tab and then click on the "Settings" button. The Properties for Synaptics TouchPad dialog box will appear. Click on "Virtual Scrolling" in the "Select an Item" box on the left. Clear one or both scrolling features in the "Virtual Scrolling" section. Click "Apply," and then "OK." b>
