Computer reboots itself after it
Sounds like a nasty virus. The only way to fix that would be to do a totatl reinstall of the operating system. When you do that though everything on the computer will be erased unless you hook the hard drive up to another computer and extract whatever you want to save.Good luck!!
How do i log in if i forgot my password?

you could try this is most cases it does work
press the power up key and keep pressing the F8 key until
the safemode box comes up
then choose safemode with networking
then click the name administrator if its there
or any other name that is a administrator without a password
if and when you are on the desktop and everything is loaded
go to
start
settings/control panel
user accounts
change an account click on it
click on your account
click on remove password
now you can either leave the account without a password
or create a new password
over to the left of the screen there are some options
if you click on the one that says
prevent a forgotten password if you click on it you then
have an option (but you will need either a pendrive or a usb spare drive)
to make a password reset disk incase you have this problem again or cannot
remember these instruction
About my Compaq Evo N800v Notebook PC laptop screen problem
My laptop is not working in the proper manner.Because for the screen the belt is may be some loose contact.some times the screen is shaking at the time of booting and immediately hanged.Then system is not working.Some times if we press upon the screen then it will work in good manner.If we remove the pressing hand,immediately the screen shakes and hanged the contents immediately.

To find what type of audio device you have installed on your computer do the following:
Step 1. On your Desktop, right-click on My Computer and select Manage.
Step 2. You will be brought to the Computer Management Console.
Step 3. In the left column, click on Device Manager.
Step 4. This will show you all the current hardware/devices that are installed on your machine. Scroll down the list until you find Sound, Video, and Game Controllers, and hit the arrow to expand it. You should have your audio device listed there.
Step 5. If you see any device that has an exclamation point next to it, this means that the device is experiencing an issue. This issue may be a bad configuration, or it may mean that the device has failed.
Step 6. if you see any device with a question mark, this means that your operating systems has found the device, but that it is unknown. This can be fixed by installing or upgrading the device drivers.
Step 7. You may even have a device that is hidden for unknown reasons. You can unhide aany devices by clicking on View in the top Menu bar and selecting Show Hidden Devices.
Step 8. On your particular computer, you have an ADI Soundmax card installed and you can download the drivers from the HP website.

N800v harddrive blew out
It depends upon your needs, the larger the hard drive to higher the cost and the maximun size you can install depends upon the BIOS.
The smallest hard drive that is readily available is about 100Gb.
Display malfunction
There is a ribbon cable that runs from the video board in the base to the screen in the lid....unfortunately, I've never seen one that was detachable at both ends, so the only solution I have would be to find a new screen with the cable, and swap it out, which is not a simple job. If you're really lucky, and good, and have eyes like an eagle, you may be able to find the bad wire in the connector and repair it somehow, but, personally, I wouldn't try....those wires are TINY...

I want to open my hardrive in the model EVO N800V COMPAQ
Looks like it's just a notebook IDE drive. On the bottom of the laptop, there should be some symbols that look like hdd platters in a vertical line. Unscrew the screws next to these symbols and pop that cover. Remove hdd, take old hdd out of the metal cradle it's in and put the new on in there. Then screw back together.
Adjusting screen brightness and contrast
press F2 when the computer starts, the bios page will appear, ALT+P to change the pages until you see the screen bightness options, then you can change it as you want. I hope this will help
