if u have a live windows or linux cd, start from cd the computer, SAVE ALL DATA, and then format the harddrive, create new partitions and install windows.

u need to save everything on an external drive.(for personal safety)after, if u have a recovery partition, u need to start the recovery process, or if u have original cd, dvd , start laptop, press F9 select boot device from cd...follow on screen instruction.

right click in desktop and chose personalize if u use windows 7 or vista and then choose change desktop icons and just put right assign in small boxes which beside what u want to appear it
