If Word was provided with the computer, you should have a key somewhere in the paperwork supplied. It's usually on the disc sleeve or a separate piece of paper. Many computers are supplied with a 60-day trial of Miscrosoft's Office suite.

We can't help you here with obtaining a product key if you haven't purchased the product. But there is an alternative suite called OpenOffice that you might want to check out. It's completely free and can read and write MS Office format files.

Hi,
If you are referring to BIOS passwordand if you have forgot BIOS password then you have to reset CMOS jumper setting. Please follow the below steps: Open the Laptop back panel. Locate the CMOS battrey, remove it & then with the help of a screw driver keep on pressing the terminal inside it and turn ON the computer for 10 secs and Turn Off (make sure you keep on pressing the terminal with a screwdriver while turning ON). It will short the BIOS setting. Now, fix the CMOS battrey & restart the computer. This will take care of the issue.

Open the Control panel 2. Open the "Sounds and Audio Devices" icon. 3. Verify the "Place volume icon in the taskbar" checkbox is checked. If this option is not available or is grayed out, skip to the next section of this document. 4. If you were able to check this box, click ok and close out of this window and the Control Panel. 5. Double-click the sound icon in the Systray and verify that all the sound volumes are mid-way or higher.
Check Windows services. Right Click My Computer and Manage. Choose Services and Application > Services. Choose "Windows Audio" and set to Automatic and Start. Now next you can do is If you open control panel & click device manager the window that opens will show a list of all installed hardware. Look for anything with an exclamation mark beside it, or to do with sound. If you see anything, right click it, check it isn't Disabled then select "Properties." it's locked because you did not register the product with Microsoft before your trial expired, once you installed the program it gives you X number of times you can use it before it will lock you out.

the MS home and student copy of office that comes with the new computer is a trail version. Once the trail has expired you will need to purchase the full version from Microsoft or a retail copy from best buy, walmart... etc

you have to dial the phone number that the program gives you to register the product, then once you give those numbers to the voice on the other end of the phone they will give you the conformation code.

1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. Make sure the DC jack is not loose or broken. A loose DC jack will need to be re-soldered. A broken one will need to be replaced.
4. If you have another processor which is compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test to see if the laptop will work.
5. The power button could be bad
6. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced.

You can look for codes but most don't work since a code/key is tied to a single machine.

If this is a new notebook and your freetrial is expired to get the product key you must purchase the product to get a key.

What you got was probably the bundled 60-day TRIAL Microsoft Office. It normally comes as an offer in a new pc. when the period expires, or the 25 times usage is consumed, you need to purchase a product key by contacting MS office store. The alternative is to download the Openoffice application. It is compatible with all MS Office application and is absolutely FREE! just google it.

Your 25 character key will be either located on the bottom of your pc on a sitcker for windows. or look on the disc packaging that came with your pc for product keys. Be aware microsoft office which is again a different product (also has a 25 character product key ) that commonly comes pre-installed as a limited time trial, this is to encourage you to purchase the software after your trial.
