Does not reading the disk
Hello there!
The error you're getting can be caused by multiple things. The most usual one is that your hard drive has gone bad.. but, it *could* also be that the files responsible for allowing Windows to boot up have gotten corrupted somehow, by means of a power surge during a thunderstorm, a virus which attacks system boot-up files, etc.
This could've also been caused by a loose power or data cable going to the hard drive. I've seen FAR stranger things happen. Assuming this is a "normal" desktop style computer, I'd pop open the side panel of the tower, and check / ensure that both the power and data cables to the hard drive is securely-plugged in.
If you have a Windows setup disc (the same version of Windows you originally had on the computer), you could run the Windows setup in "repair" mode to see if that might fix the potentially-damaged boot-up system files. This is all in the interest of not losing any of your files on the hard drive in question.
I hope this helps you at least a bit, or gives you a better idea of the "proper next step to take"! I wish you the best of luck!
Turns on but no display
Many times it is the physical memory in your computer. You should get 3 beeps but this is not always the case. Sometimes you will get a 'No Signal' on your monitor. If your computer is turning on and you can see the HD light has activity I would check the memory.
Unplug the computer. Then open your computer (or laptop) and reseat the memory in the slot by popping it out. Do this a couple times and see if that does the trick.
Turns on with no display and beeps
The motherboard is unable to talk to the computer's video card , RAM, or CPU. you'll need to open the case up to troubleshoot and re-seat the components/figure out what's wrong. (or of course bring it to a computer repair shop if you don't know what you're doing inside the machine).
Which ports?
You must have at least two outputs or DMS to put out more than one video signal. Do you have more than one? If not, you can add a graphics card.
My comp won't boot
Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact. Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.
How do i install wireless
to connect wireless to desktop you need a wireless add-on card which is connected to pci slot in your motherboard after inserting the add on card you need to load the drivers then restart the computer
Everything has been working okay
The computer could not read your copy of Windows from your disk-drive.
Either:
* there is no electrical power getting to the disk-drive (check the power cable)
* the "data" cable between the motherboard and the disk-drive is faulty or not-connected (check it)
* the power-supply in your computer is not supplying power to the disk-drive (try different power-supply)
* the disk-drive itself has "failed" (maybe, the motor that spins the disk-drive has failed)
Take your computer to a professional technician for trouble-shooting.
I have a problem
Change your hotmail password immediately, someone else has access to your account.
Run a full virus-scan of your computer with Microsoft Security Essentials or AVG Free - keep running scans until it comes up zero.
What ati and nvidia video
The motherboard used has an AGP 8X/4X expansion slot for a video card. Any card for this type of slot will work, and your choice will probably be based on what applications you want to run, and how much you want to spend. Since this computer is an AMD Athlon system, some people believe you should use an ATI card. AMD owns ATI, and there is a belief that an ATI card will perform better. I've tried both (my current video card is an nVidia model, in an Athlon dual-core board), and at least for me it makes no difference.
My computer is very slow & hangs up a lot. I
1. There could be a lot of dust build up on the CPU in side the cabinet.
2. You probably do not have enough hard drive space to accomadate the swap file s (virtual memory is low) need higher setting.
3.You may have a virus.
Can the compaq presario s6300nx has the
If the pc is stock - no. To make it compatible you need to add a lot more memory, at least 1GB, and you need a decent video card. With that 7 will run acceptably well, it's still an old pc with a weak processor.
Why do bio page appear when turning machine on
It could be that the small coin-shaped battery on the motherboard is getting "old", and won't hold a charge.
Thus, all the BIOS settings are *NOT* being "saved" when your computer is powered-off.
Replace the battery.
