Hello there! The error you're getting can be caused by multiple things. The most usual one is that your hard drive has gone bad.. but, it *could* also be that the files responsible for allowing Windows to boot up have gotten corrupted somehow, by means of a power surge during a thunderstorm, a virus which attacks system boot-up files, etc. This could've also been caused by a loose power or data cable going to the hard drive. I've seen FAR stranger things happen. Assuming this is a "normal" desktop style computer, I'd pop open the side panel of the tower, and check / ensure that both the power and data cables to the hard drive is securely-plugged in. If you have a Windows setup disc (the same version of Windows you originally had on the computer), you could run the Windows setup in "repair" mode to see if that might fix the potentially-damaged boot-up system files. Many times it is the physical memory in your computer. You should get 3 beeps but this is not always the case. Sometimes you will get a 'No Signal' on your monitor. If your computer is turning on and you can see the HD light has activity I would check the memory. Unplug the computer. The motherboard used has an AGP 8X/4X expansion slot for a video card. Any card for this type of slot will work, and your choice will probably be based on what applications you want to run, and how much you want to spend. You may be able to purchase a system disk from Compaq, otherwise, try any generic XP disk. It won't have any Compaq drivers, but at least you can reformat the C: drive and get XP on it.

update your graphics card..

attach graphic accelerate card....

Purchase a USB wireless adapter, install the software then plug it in when the software tells you to.
You should now be able to connect to wireless networks.
