Just a guess but I think you have broken the rings inside. If you keep running it with broken rings you will trash the cylinder inside. I think you can buy a new pump for it if you are not mechanically minded.

The issue of low pressure that you experience is usually caused by air leaking from various fittings and or broken valves or valve plate gaskets. While the compressor is filling, spray soapy water on all fittings checking for leaks. If no leaks are found then suspect the head area of the pump. Usually when valves are bad , you will notice that air is blowing out of the intake port. With air filter removed and tank empty of air, start compressor and feel for good suction at intake, as the compressor reaches maximum pressure, air will begin to blow out of the intake and you will not feel suction. If this is the case, replace valves and or valve plate gaskets. ;good luck with ;your repair.

Check the pressure switch. The unloader valve is actually in the pressure switch where the small air line from the tank check valve attaches to it. When the pressure switch turns the motor off it then lets the head pressure bleed off so the motor can restart the next time pressure drops in the tank. If it's not working and bleeding off the head pressure the cold start valve (the one with the pin in it) also won't open so the motor can restart and warn up properly.

There is no reset button for the compressor, if the compressor won't start check the valve is not open, also check the outlet power, Shut the drain valve at the bottom of the tank if it's open

What? If it won't shut off when it trips the limit valve. You need to replace the pressure switch.

check your regulator to see that 80 is what the gun is receiving and if it is move to 90 psi
