The printer is basically a Lexmark and uses Lexmark cartridges. Most places such as Staples will have a chart to show you which cartridges to use.

The drivers for this printer are readily available for free download.

Do this, make sure the the power cable is on directly to the wall outlet, then see if the screen says "powering up" ,problem solved. If it doesn't try opening up the thing and checking the connections to see if they are soldiered up and tight. If they are and still doesn't work, then buy a new printer, the thing probably got water inside and burned up. Also, if it does power up, but that's not the case here, try connecting to the computer ,getting the driver from compaq.com and updating the firmware, if that doesn't work I don't know anything else that will.

hp does not currently have drivers available for Vista for this model

check the entire wiring and only after you install drivers for it connect the printer try to print a test page,is the ink level fine?

Pick the version for which operating system you are using. Once you install the software you will have full control of your printer again and you can set how dark you want your copies.

access your router with following link

then type user name:admin
password is:admin or blank

then enable DHCP.then u can get ip automatically.

then all network members get ip from this router.
configure your router as wep.not wap
dhcp is on.
and dont give advanced security

I believe that printer is not supported by windows vista.

Pick the right version for the operating system you are running.
Uninstall all drivers and software for the printer before you install the new software. I hope this will help you.

Just pick your operating system.

the ink cartridge is probably sliding to the far left. try to slide it to the far right.

Go to Control Panel look and see what printer or printers are connected to your PC. Then I would try to reinstall my new printer.
