HP/Compaq does not make an XP driver for this printer, but the Win 2000 driver may work. Here it is.

that is because the ij600 will not normally work with anything newer than xp as the drivers were not developed beyond that system.

try reinstalling the software on your PC if doesnt work you might have a problem with the printers memory

Clean and very lightly lubricate the tracks and guides that the heads run on. Make sure that the belt and gears are clean and completely free of any oil or ink etc.

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. HP bought Compaq a few years ago and apparently stopped supporting that printer after Win XP. There is no driver for vista. you may want to try the drivers for Win 2000 as Vista has similar code as Win 2000, and some of those drivers work in Vista. see:

It will if you can get the mac drivers ... check at the mac web site or www.compaq.com/support

One of the ink cartridges must be bad ( not being detected by the printer). Please check by replacing the ink cartridges one by one.

Disconnect the power supply & also remove the signal cable. Connect after few minutes.Open the cover & re-install both the cartridges one by one - remove & re install. It should work.

Disconnect the power; remove the printer/USB cable.Apply litytle sewing machine oil on a piece of cloth and firmly apply on the steel rod. Please ensure just a little oil film is put on the rod. Now without connecting the printer with the computer just turn on the printer & then turn it off after 15-20 seconds. Repeat this 4-5 times. Now when you'll open the cover while keeping the printer on, the cartridge box will slide to center.

Yes most assuredly. BUT there is NONE for Win 7, & doesn't look like there will be :( IT may work Run as Administrator, & in compatibility mode, set to XP SP2 , though, I guess that's all one can try?

have you tried using the drivers that vista has, no compaq doesnt offer drivers for xp or vista for that model

Your probably got a bad print head in this inkjet your looking around $15-30 for replacment of the print head. Since your tryed cleaning and allignment this what is left in the conclusion.

Clear the printer cache, unplug the power to the printer, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. It should be fine then.
