I recommend the obvious solution which is to plug it into an S-Video compatible TV, VCR or DVD player then change your settings. You could make it really for yourself if you want by looking for some software that you burn onto a CD which you make bootable and when you run it in the player it resets everything to factory default settings. But seriously make it easy on yourself and just plug it into an S-Video compatible device (TV/VCR/DVD, preferably a TV for ease, though it doesn't make any real difference). Your tv and DVDs have color coded wires white,yellow and red..just mscth them..most have words like video or audio out and in...would be out to TV on the DVD in on the TV pretty much self explaining..good luck

HelloTry an other disc. Soem discs may not recogonized. It will depend on its recording. Put an MP3 and Audio CD disc in it and see whether they are regognaized by the player. If it does not reads any disc, there are two possiblilities for this fault. The first one is of dirty or dusty laser pickup lens, and the other is with a faulty laser pick up uit itself.Just put a cleaning disc in it, and play it for at least three times. Check it after. If this does not hel you, beofre replacing the laser pickup unit, just replace the strip wire that goes from this laser pickup unit to the main board. It is a flat thin cable, can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selling shops at your town.Even repacing the strip wire, and cleaning does not help you, you have to repalce the laser pickup unit. OK.

3.) If does not work again, try to remove the cover of your DVD and checked all the connections of the DVD connector from the circuit board, try to reconnect the connector and tightening it.

the problem is not recognising the cd / dvd, you can clean the lense by puting a lense cleaner cd, it is aviloble in the market.

I don't think there is a code for this brand. The remote may be OK, but the DVD player is of a brand which isn't widely known.
