the problem is not with the printer drivers. Every thing lies in the mechanism that moves the printer head across the papar during printing. Should the gears find it a bit hard moving around will cause it to pause during that time frame and resume when it finds it ground. On the lighter side a faultly cartridge could also be a likely issue here. try getting a new cartridge to see the out come. Let me know what happens from there.

Hi,

When this error appears in your printer check if ink are smeared on the holder where the contact panel is with the cartridge. To fix this issue use the Kleenex (perfume ) added with few drops of water to dampen it and clean off those contact on the holder. You should let the unit sit 24 hours for best results. Before printing anything run aligned the cartridges a couple times then run clean cartridges a couple of times. Print the test page to look for the condition.

Dell All-in-One Printer Cartridge Error 1203.
There is a short in the cartridge you have. You need to cover a copper contact on the color cartridge the error clears and the cartridge works. Looking from the contact side for the color cartridge 2nd row contact 2 from the left. Use a SMALL square piece of Scotch tape to cover that contact. If you need more help let me know thanks

Sometimes Covering up a copper contact on the cartridge helps.To do this,use a small tape or apply small amount of Liquid eraser on the contact point of the cartridge, 2nd row of the contact point (2nd from the left). The error will be cleared and the cartridge will work. If your cartridge is new, i would suggest you to get a replacement instead of doing this. Good luck Thanks for using FixYa.

You need to disconnect the printer. Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

go into the fax settings (or setup) on the printer and make sure it is set to give a printed report after each fax reguardless of wether it goes through or not..

all the printer are compatible with any MAC vrsion

restart your printer. if it is still not working. look for a technician.

Thanks for using FixYa. It seems that the print head requires cleaning. To clean the print head take a hot water towel with the printer unplugged and the cartridges out, clean it till the time you see there is no ink residue on the towel. turn the printer on.then remove both the cartridges out.on the cartridges you will see the brown color dotted circuit.clean that circuit with a dry tissue paper.on the lower base of the cartridge you will see the nozzle of the cartridge from where the ink comes out from the cartridge from printing.clean that area also with tissue paper.dont apply too much force on the circuit , the circuit of the cartridge is very delicate so take take care you don't make rashes on the cartridge or nozzle while cleaning the cartridges.clean the circuit of both the cartridges one-by-one. then in the printer where you insert the cartridges,there also you will see the same brown color dotted circuit .clean that circuit also with the dry tissue.take care you don't damage the printer circuit.then after the cleaning is finished,properly insert the cartridges in the printer to their respective positions.then check out the printer display.is it showing the same message or the message is gone.if its showing the same message ,then turn the printer off then ON then check out again if its still the same problem message on display then its confirmed that the right side cartridge in the printer is got faulty.the brown dotted circuit is getting short in the cartridge so the printer is not detecting the cartridge and this error comes on.in this case the cartridge needs to be replaced.this is very common problem and occurs many a times.replacing the cartridge solves the problem if cleaning the circuit does not helps. this will help.please do rate the solution.keep updated for any further assistance if more help required.,thanks.

What should you do if you get this problem. Relax; you may recover the printhead by unclogging it. Follow these steps to unclog the printhead

1. Right click in the printer driver name
2. Select Properties menu
3. Click Maintenance tab
4. Click on cleaning sign for regular cleaning. Perform this up to 3 times.
5. If this does not work, perform Deep Cleaning

And if that not work

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this,
But after you done this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

1 - try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..
or
2 - when error shows up, shut the printers power off; wait one minute and turn it back on press copy.
