Only half of my screen on my dell inspirion 9200

you can try to connect an external monitor to your system then toggle FN+f8 if you see the screen good in external monitor it means the graphic card is ok then you have to replace the LCD panel.

is it RAM memory that you are trying to install if so you need to turn over the laptop and you will have to remove any pannels you can and you will then see where the memory is and install it. hope this is helpfull.

Dell Inspiron 9200 PC Notebook will not power up.

Try these simple steps:

- remove the battery
- disconnect the ac adapter
- press and hold power button for 10 seconds
- plug the ac adapter in
- power on your system

If it doesn't power on, press Fn+Power button to launch the Diagnostic Utility

If diagnostics doesn't come up, your motherboard needs replacement.

The screeN is black, but can hear system start.

there is a loose screw on the screen hinge. you will have to lift the panel at the top by screen. unscrewing any screws that need removing. usually its just the screws on the hinge cover on the outer edge, then tighten the screw with the wire attached to it.

Vertical lines on laptop screen

There are only two issues here, one it could be the data cable on the left side of the screen has come loose from the socket on the LCD.....most likely though is your starting to have a cascading screen failure and will need to replace the LCD panel.

if it didnt work then check for the modem driver...............or................

contact the net provider

if wifi is working then may be the mis plugging of cable in port...

Windows XP Pro was reinstalled but failed the

As you are unsure as to what to do then take it back to the techy. Reinstall from boot means altering the boot sequence so that your m/c will boot from the disk not the hard drive.

Depending on the BIOS this can be done either by pressing an F button (often F12) or changing the sequence within the BIOS.

If you could, warranty replace. Otherwise your probably best off getting a new laptop as out of warranty mobo's from dell can be pricey.

The second option is to replace the keyboard which is affordable at about 15-30 dollars and simple enough to exchange.Thirdly, you can purchase a keyboard and a PS2-USB adapter and use an external keyboad. The adapter is about 10 dollars and the keyboard ranges from 15-60 dollars.
