Dell Inspiron 2200 boots up
Check with your Power Plan or screen saver option, you might have it adjusted to super energy saving to make your battery last longer and have the screen dim, or backlight shut off since you mention it take 1-2 min to boot up ...see if that might help.... If that didn't do the job, I suspect your backlit lighting might be going bad. Let me know what Operating system you are using too. So like I said, check your screen save and if it is set to dim, or shurt off withing a minute or two... set it to something longer to see if that works.

Where is the reset button on a Dell Inspiron?.
There is generally no reset button on laptops, if your laptop gets stuck, hold down the power button until the machine turns off.
Another options would be to remove the battery and the power adapter. And reinsert them after few seconds.

Sounds like either your hard drive is bad or you need to go into your setup by pressing f12 when your screen shows dell when starting up and check your boot order, make sure your hard drive is listed in the boot order, if not your hard drive is fried.. if so , make sure your 1st boot is your hard drive. Also make sure you don't have anything in your cdrom drive or a flash drive in your usb port.
Hope it's just your boot order and not your hard drive!

Remove dust from the inside. Although the fan may be working
it prevented cooling. I recommend trying that first, there's a manual at the
dell-page how to open it, and it really needs just a thorough cleaning.
Also have a look at the manual page on cpu cooling on
