Every time an Epson printer "cleans" itself, it dumps ink into "waste pads". The printer counts up how much ink it has put in those waste pads, and will stop printing when it believes the pads are full. You may be able to reset the counter with software. Google, "epson waste counter reset" for ways to do that.

is this a printer issue or a car multimedia one?

It should not fog up. Has something been spilled on it? I would first try a hair dryer on it. But don't over hear anything

Hi, this is not a solution because I don't think there is one apart from buying new inks. Epson and all other inkjet printers do this to prevent the coloured print head nozzles from getting blocked. If they are not used for a long time the ink dries up and blocks the nozzles. Epson recommends printing at least once a month with all colours to prevent this. Printing in black only option will only work if the colored inks are OK. Whenever the printer is turned on it performs a head clean, this is why the coloured inks get used over time even though they are not used for printing.

It seem lost electricity to head micropiezo. Replace board, and check small circuit at head carriage. If you wish repair yourself, check for f2 mounted fuse at board.

Even though I changed my black and colored ink cartridges twice, the printer still prints blank pages. What should I do?

  • The paper is not curled or creased.
  • The paper is not too old. See the instructions that came with the paper for more information.
  • The number of sheets in the paper stack does not exceed the limit specified for that media.SeeLoading capacities for EPSON special mediafor details.
  • The paper is not loaded above the arrow on the edge guide.
  • Paper is not jammed inside the printer. If it is, remove the jammed paper.
  • The ink cartridges are not empty. Replace cartridges as necessary. SeePrint quality does not improve after head cleaning.
After trying the solutions above, load the paper again. Make sure that you follow any special loading instructions that came with your paper. See also the paper handling section in this guide.

You have to do it. The paper is not self-loading no matter how much you yell at it.

I would buy a new printer, most likely cheaper than the ribbon cables.

Windows 7 and up should automatically recognize the hardware and install the drivers. Possibly XP too.

For the complete software suite, you can probably find it on the Epson support website. If you have trouble finding it, contact Epson technical support for further assistance.

Go here for drivers:

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=14082&infoType=Downloads

Select your operating system from the dropdown, download the correct driver and install from your hard drive. If you have Windows 7 follow the instructions to get the drivers from Windows Update

I had the same problem, this was after printing with thick card and the printer was in a cold room. When the room got to normal temperature and wrmed the printer up then the noise stopped.
