Epson cx5400 prints blank pages

Hi
Only things it could be is your software driver needs to be reinstalled or you got the wrong driver for the windows you are using on your PC or the heads on your printer is blocked this happens if your printer been standing long time,

There is a place in your driver when you go to print a docs there are some tabs there which will have Tools Tab you can clean heads from there, if heads not clean then try some tricks I used

Here.

Ok it got to be the heads blockage
There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

I recently installed Microsoft7 on my new computer

Ok try this,Download your XP driver you wish to install. If it's in a zip/rar file then extract it to your desktop. You should have a simple .exe file sitting on your desktop to install the drivers, as normal for XP. Right click the .exe file and select "Properties". Then select the tab called "Compatibility" Now check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Make sure "Windows XP Service Pack 2" is highlighted. Now apply the settings and run the installer. This should work for most drivers, but not all

Replaced the black ink cartridge but my cx5400 will not print

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

Error message

Hi, I am assuming that you tried to turn it off and on again, also are there any lights flashing on the machine? If you go to the Epson website and choose support you can choose your printer and go through a troubleshooter which has some simple problems, but if you don't feel comfortable doing that then contacting a service center would probably be easier for you. Depending on where you are in the world there are several ways to contact your service center. I am posting the site for USA but if that is not where you are then let me know and I will give you the link for your closest place otherwise you may be able to navigate your way from the link that I am sending you.
Let us know how you go.

A note has come up on the computer saying Service

Yes i think so. This message has been listed as a con by Epson to charge for service that you can do yourself.
The "part" that needs servicing is a small sponge under the cartridges that contains excess ink.

Remove them and clean the tray, express any excess ink from the sponge rubber by pressing into tissue or absorbent cloth/

This link tells the reset sequence http://www.eserviceinfo.com

and here is a backup site that also explains it

Will print wont copy

Turn the Epson unit off. Now lift the scanner cover and look on the left-side for a toggle switch with the familiar lock/unlock symbols. Change the switch to unlock, turn the unit back on, and test for proper functionality.

The following picture should help in locating the toggle switch:

Epson cx5400 all in one printer error

This resolution, the only working one I could find for the generic "Printer Error" message, was posted by FixYa user willyinfcva:

"I downloaded the Epson CX5400 manual from 2manuals.com, and the remedies for the printer error light were plain and fell into 5 categories; print or carriage motor ohms out of spec (not likely), a latch holding the paper eject mechanism not locked down, or one of the sensors for head or paper position not functioning properly. Confident with this new information, I aerodusted both sensors, cleaned a smudge off the CR alignment strip behind the head carriage, and also reseated the head for good luck, as I'd had it out before. I ran a test and ... it worked!"
