cannot get yellow to print

My printer will not print yellow at all. The yellow ink levels are not low, even bought a new cartridge, still no luck.

I had the same problem with the yellow cartridge. Yellow quit printing, put in a new yellow and still would not print yellow. I had a help file, don't know where I got it, but it suggested replacing the black ink cartridge also, even though the black wasn't low yet. Replaced the black, ran a few nozzle cleans and everything worked fine. Don't know why. Try it

printing in black & white when color cartridge ran out

Hi. I have an Epson Stylus CX6600 and my magenta ink just ran out. I bought a magenta ink cartridge a while back and can't seem to find it, but in the mean time I would just like to print in black and white. For some reason, it doesn't want to let me do that. Is there any way for me to bypass the message that says "Magenta ink out" and just keep printing in Black and White?

I had the same problem. Had no choice but to buy the colors I ran out to make the printer work. In order to avoid future problems and save on color inked I attempted to follow the steps of a previous posting, however, that did not work for me. This is what I had did. Print, select properties, advance, continue, check box - Black ink only. Remember when you decide to print in color you must reset your setting and take out the check from the - Black ink only.

my epson rx580 was also printing too red.  tried the nozzle cleaning, etc. several times.    didn't work.  i used paper towels and dabbed underneath the ink cartridges (removed) with the help of chopsticks.  then i took q tips to get the corners and other areas that glistened with wet ink.
replacing the current cartridges didn't help, so i changed all the cartridges (i use generic, so it wasn't too much of a sacrifice and the old cartridges were almost empty).  and voila!  the colors were all working again.  so that seemed to work for me.

Run the print head cleaning routine from the printers driver or control panel. you may have to run it 3 or 4 times to regain all the lines.

MY printer will not print Excel spreadsheets

Hi folks, no doubt been already been already answered (I did search) but could not find!

My Excel spreadsheet files no matter how small will not print and just sit in the print queue advising "printing" and do nothing other than blocking other later non Excel jobs.

Printer is Epson CX6600, operating system Windows HP Home.

I've done all the diagnostics I can find, reinstalled the printer software (totally), but no result.

"Windows XP Printer Test Page" prints ok

Word files print ok, Notepad file print ok, it's just just Excel files that will not!

Any ideas please?

Thanks, fenreed

I had this problem on my Vista pc but it was for all programs it would say its printing and nothing happened, what I did was leave the old one installed on the pc and created another and then deleted the old.But have you tried uninstalling excell and re-installing it to see if that changes anything, and when you reinstalled epson did you go to their site and download the updated firmware/software for the printer this could be another cause?!

How to reset 73/91 Cartridges for Epson CX5500

the ssc service utility v4.30 doesnot have the support for epson CX5500 & doesnot support chips of 73/91 cartridges

SSC utility is used for resetting waste ink counter, not for ink level counter (chip at ink tank). If you wish to reset ink level counter (chip), you must use hardware resetter, or use CISS chip with autoreset function.

Black won't print for my

Black won't print for my epson SX515W

I have solved this problem on my sx515w. I hadn't used the printer for a while and when I did after about 3 months the black wouldn't print. Even after trying several different new cartridges, driver reinstals, updates, automatic head cleaning operations..... It turned out that the printer head had ink dried onto it due to lack of use.

What you need to do is to drop a few drops of nail polish remover (yes as in Acetone solution) on to the foam cleaning dock, located to the far right of the printer rail. When the printer is resting, the ink jet module covers the dock. TO expose the dock, set the printer to the 'clean head' operation and the ink jet module will go to the far left, when this happens pull the power cord out so it stays out of the way (don't worry the printer will reset fine afterwards). So now the module is out of the way drop in some cleaing fluid on to the sponge dock. Then you are ready to run the automatic clean head operation at least 20 times. Do a test print each time until full print quality is resumed.

Oh and it is worth cleaning the sponge dock with tissue as it gets heavily soiled with ink (using the 'clean head' - turn off half way operation just described above). Remeber to replenish the nail polish remover. This should sort it.

Yackshimash.

Cheers
