Try restarting the computer and connecting the printer to another usb port. if that doesn't solve the problem, then you most likely have documents stuck in the printing queue on your computer. First could you clarify the question, are you using the printer with a computer? what windows does your computer have? Windows Xp, windows Vista?

If the print has horizontal lines of 'missing print' do three head cleqans don't move the printer or switch it off, now leave it overnight - letting the head soak in fresh ink- in the morning, do one more head clean and then print the nozzle check.If it's poor photocopying it is most probably because the print quality for photocopy is set to a low setting. The manual will explain how to change photocopy print quality. Hope this helps

hi you can go to the printer icon in printers&scanners right click the printer, then go to properties, in that you will find the settings for print quality depending on how good you want them you have 3 or 4 options, obviusly to have the best print you need to change it to the photo quality, also change the paper quality to, do not have just plain paper, change it to high quality inkjet paper, this way you can get a realy good quality print....hope this helps

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this I put down here. But after you don this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

Ok it got to be the heads blockage
There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

try to reseat the ink cartridges, meaning take it out of the printer then out it back,

press set up, press the top left button until you see replace ink, press the color button. take out the inks and return it. close the cartridge cover

Hello. the best way to get going again is to hook up the USB cable between your printer and computer and then run your printer driver disk. If you do not have the printer driver disk, you can download it for free. Just google Epson Stylus CX6600 printer driver

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?

ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Epson Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Much as I'd love to say that Epson are being a bunch of "robbing gits" as you put it, in this instance they are actually helping protect your investment. If the printer was allowed to print without a valid ink supply on one of the ink types it would soon fill the printhead with either foam or air. Either promotes clogging. Now, whilst you might be certain that you're using just black, the printer may be programmed to use a small amount of the other colours (depends on the settings) so common sense often needs dispensing with. It's a pain in the backside, granted but it is intended to stop you from having much bigger issues later on. Appreciate that's not a "fix" but hopefully it explains why you're in the bind you are. My advice would be to purchase a cheap mono laser, especially if your printing it primarily of black text type... It's cheaper and you don't have to worry about consumables you don't use. Martin

Firstly clean the head of cartridge & printer.if you have cleaned the head, that's the best way to get the color out.... did you also clean the head on the cartridge holder where you insert the cartridges?
If you useing Refill kits (cartrige) please replace it with a NEW one printer cartridge becouse refill cartridge is not every time good.
