My black ink doesn't print

Hi There

Summary

Usage of compatible ink and leave the printer idle too long may cause printhead clogging
What should you do if you get this problem. Relax; you may recover the printhead by unclogging it. Follow these steps to unclog the printhead

1. Right click in the printer driver name
2. Select Properties menu
3. Click Maintenance tab
4. Click on cleaning sign for regular cleaning. Perform this up to 3 times.
5. If this does not work, perform Deep Cleaning

And if that not work

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this,
But after you done this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

Ok.

There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

Waste ink absorber full

Hi ....

This printer has an ink absorber that takes in ink during the printing and print head cleaning processes. The cleaning process is necessary in order to keep the print head nozzles from becoming clogged. Over the life of the printer, the amount of ink that the ink absorber has absorbed is calculated by the printer. Eventually, after substantial use, the printer will enter an error condition when the ink absorber is nearly full. At this point, printing is still possible by pressing the <Resume> button on the printer. To protect the printer from damage, you will not be able to print at all once the ink absorber is full.
Canon recommends having the printer serviced before the absorber becomes full. We are aware that there are many "do-it-yourself" Web sites that offer instructions for making this repair. Replacing the ink absorber is a complicated and potentially messy procedure. Even if the ink absorber is successfully changed, the ink absorber counter must be reset. Be aware that if you attempt this procedure, it is at your own risk.

Do vote if this helps ... Cheers :)

After installing all new ink cartridges properly,

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

Sometime you're better off just purchasing a new printer.

Good Luck

Hi, I have epson stylus cx5500 printer and I am

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?
ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother MFC-240C All-In-One InkJet Printer. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

IF YOU ARE USING GENERIC CARTRIDGES, MAYBE IT WOULD BE BETTER IF YOU DISABLE THE INK MONITOR.

This is the only advice I can give you.

The next step would be to disassemble the Epson, and clean the Pads/Heads. Click on link below.:

Change ink cartridge

For many you need to turn the printer on, lift the lid that covers the ink tanks, and on the on printer display scroll menu to change ink or something to that effect. Alternatively, if you have the Epson printer utilities on your system, go to Control Panel, hit the printer icon, properties.......

Sounds like it printing but no ink comes out

Your printer is a cartridge with no metal.
All inkjet printers have the same issue. They dry out. Look at the print cartridge. If there is a little metal plate on the bottom, it is a print HEAD. In some cases, you can wet a Q-tip with a mix of 20% acetone and 80% pure alcohol (NOT RUBBING ALCOHOL!) and GENTLY wipe the bottom of the head. Press the metal head against a clean paper half a dozen times. There should be bands of distinct colour (or black if it is black and white). If not try again. You will likely need a new head if you can't geta pattern.
If there is just a small hole in the bottom of the cartridge, no metal - The print head has dried out. It can be cleaned by someone with technical ability - the printer needs to come apart. This may cost more than a new printer. Some print heads are available but mostly not. Check your manual. Part number for the print head (repair shop fix ONLY): F146010

My print heads seem to dry out if I don't use the

Unfortunately Epson technology is based on micro pores which are easily blocked particularly if not used.

May be you could change printer and choose an HP instead which will be more appropriate for you.
