The same thing happened on my MP270 printer and I had to reset the cartridge status by pressing and holding "STOP" button (circle with triangle inside) for 5 seconds, until the flashing indicator light stopped blinking.

Check your cable, may be it disconected or not properly inserted..

Run a cleaning cycle and/or replace the the print cartridges. Also when printing in Black and white choose to use the black cartridge only in the printing options. i.e choose Black and white.

the only way is contact epson service center to fix it

if you have kids, then you may have something such as a band-aid or such stuck in the rollers, try using a 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of poster paper and run it thru the machine to get it (or other things like bottle caps) unstuck.

Download and install the first one in the list.

OK guys quite a simple one....

with the printer on press & hold both the small red button ( far right ) and the green, colour copy button. Whilst still holding press the power button wait till the unit powers off. Press the power button again, shortly after the unit powers on, the lights flash, let go of the two buttons your holding. The screen shoul dnow say "Init EEPROM" if it doesn't repeat procedure till it does. Now press the green colour copy button once, screen should now say "Push power sw" Press and hold the power button, the unit will power off and on again, now release the power button and your printer should be working again. Now you should change your waste pads......

During certain cases, you might have completed the physical integration perfectly. But still, you might not be able to accomplish the printing. This could be due to the absence of a driver installed in to your system. The problem could easily be averted, if you are installing the driver corresponding to the manufacturer. You might ensure that the version corresponds to the exact version of the printer series also.

It seems that the drivers for the copier portion have got corrupted somehow. Please disconnect the device from the computer/laptop, uninstall the device from Comtrol Panel->Add Remove Programs, reboot, reinstall the drivers from the CD that came with the device. Now attach the device and allow Windows to auto detect it and load up its drivers. You are on.

Last time I checked, printers don't have keys.

From your description the print head is bad, have you tried a maintenance cleaning to see if that might help? sometimes the nozzles become clogged and produce all kinds of problems from faint print to uneven ink distribution.

It won't print until you replace the cartridge

Well the first thing that will cross ones mind is the ink level.

So check the ink level on the pc will printing a document.

Because this problem mostly caused due to low ink level, try changing the cartridges.

if the printers been sitting for some time, the printhead has dried up "not good" printheads generally retail around $100, you can try soaking the bottom of the printhead in metho which may fix some colors but you would be pretty lucky to get all them to work.

This helps remove the nag screen:

1. Go to Printers and Faxes (or the equivalent screen that lists all your printers)
2. Right click your CX6600 printer and choose "Printing Preferences"
3. Click on the "Maintenance" tab
4. Click on the "Speed & Progress" button
5. Tick the "Disable EPSON Status Monitor" checkbox
6. Click on OK
7. Click on OK to close the Preferences window

That should sort you out and allow you to print in relative peace...
