Dyson DC14 All floors Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My dyson vacuum will not start
Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.
If your vacuum doesn't turn on, make sure that plug is fully inserted into a fully functional electronic outlet. If it still not turning on after verifying this, it could be that the power switch is malfunctioning. You may need to replace the power switch by opening up the handle of your vacuum. I suggest to refer to your manual on how to replace the power cord or contact Dyson for troubleshooting steps. 1-844-679-1647

Is there a rubber washer under the bin
Hi there, it's Allan at Dyson.
There is a black rubber seal on the inside of the bin but nothing beneath it (outside of the bin).
I hope this helps but if you have any other questions, please feel free to give the Dyson Helpline a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA), 0800 298 0298 (UK).
All the best,
Allan
Where do you put attachments to make them work?
There is a button on the handle that releases the suction tube from the floor brush housing. Once the suction tube is released from the brush assembly, you can install the attachments on the suction tube.
What model is 171-UK-A61218
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
From the serial number you've provided, I can see you have a DC14 All Floors.

Dyson DC28 - when using this in "carpet mode", I
There's no switch per sey, but there is a clutch activation knob, on the right side of the base, as you're standing behind the unit. There should be a Carpet or Hard floor setting, just two. Twist it to change from one to the other. However, all this is meant to do, as far as I know, is to turn on the brush roll or turn it off, by means of a clutch system. I don't think it has anything to do with the wand assembly.
Won't turn off
It's highly probable that the Dyson power switch has gone bad. You can buy
dyson dc14 switch here. The switch is located right behind the front covering of the neck or handle when you remove the telescopic wand. Please make sure that the vacuum is unplugged before you start this project.
