Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Height adjustment plate carpet
There is not a height adjustment plate on the vacuum. There is a bottom plate which is the part that glides across the floor. It has three plastic screws which you turn with a large screwdrive or a coin to remove the bottom plate.
Dyson DC07 belt change has resulted in very noisy vacuum!
Hi I agree with the first 2 solutions above but not the 3rd one.
If you have suction coming through the hose when the machine is in upright position then the u bend has nothing to do with this problem.
Right so ... The belt snapped.
The answer to you question is "why did the belt snap" its true that it could just be old age but its more likely to have been caused by a foreign object being sooked up.
How the belt/brushbar/motor interact
Your belt simply connects the motor to the brushbar know as Direct Drive. If an object get inside the space between the motor and the brushbar or if it can jam the brushbar then this will cause the rubber to burn. The motor will keep spinning and the belt wont be able to so will snap.
So its easy to see that the belt has snapped and people just think "'oh the belt has snapped"
You might wonder where im coming from here.
Anyway because the brushbar got jammed it may also have been buckled slighty either as a result of the foreign object causing it to stop suddenly from spinning at high speed or/and the result of the heat build up.
The rattling noise you now find your Dyson making is more than likely because your brushbar is buckled and when it spins the bristles are hitting the housing unit.
Your belt will snap again unless you replace the brushbar
I have the DC07 model in the upright position

Dyson DC07 Filter Release Catch removal
if its the part im thinking of its a small spade like catch thats glued into a hole in the chassis normally id lay the machine on its front and gently tap the old catch out with a flat end screwdriver and a small hammer be carefull its very brittle
I just installed new carpeting and the vacuum
Hi there,
The tracklines left by your Dyson are caused by the revolving brushbar grooming deep into the carpet pile to dislodge trodden in dirt, grit and animal hair.
However, you may want to contact your carpet manufacturer to check it's suitable for cleaning with a vacuum cleaner equipped with a revolving brush. Manufacturers sometimes recommend cleaning certain types of plush pile carpeting using suction only.

Ive got a sock in the tube
remove dust bin from hover and remove handle from hose then remove hose from hover and push a peice of doul up hose to remove sock and rebuild hover or buy new hose hope this helps
Release spring popped off when dumping the cannister.
As long as the black piece still has the "nubs" on both sides at the turn in the "L" shape and the base isn't broke then this is going to be easy. There is a groove on the main unit the little wheel fits into that groove, the "nubs" fit into small holes on the swivel down piece, and the spring fits between the small side of the "L" shape and the bottom of the swivel down piece.
